I think if the Perfecta had been an original made for the UK market they would have found a more elegant solution than the customary enlargement of the coin slot. These are Germans we're talking about, they would surely have manufactured a specific "1d" coin entry.

They show up as "Viscount", "Duchess" and "Princess" and possibly other regal or non-aristocratic names. my jaunt around the world of google with my morning coffee has (not surprisingly) brought nothing firm :dammit: but.................. this prestamped envelope design is U294 and was first issued in 1887 Casper Becker (possibly no relation at all!) started the Becker Brewing Co in Dayton Ohio in 1891...
