Re: Gallopers - Carousel

Sorry Arrgee, I don't know for sure but I understand from a contact at Bressingham that the racer is/was in a private collection in France.

Re: Traditional pub games

This post reminds me of visiting a pub somewhere in the Norfolk outback in the 1960's which was just a converted house. The wife and I had just moved up to Norfolk and a group of friends were visiting from London so we decided to find a real old country pub. Once found the first surprise was that w...

Re: A Conveyor for Christmas

Many thanks for your kind comment Coppinpr. It took around 80 hours to complete but that included cutting and planing up the oak and beech from rough sawn boards. I also had to remake the ball tracks because I made the first ones without the spring release sections and was suprised at how many time...

Re: Gallopers - Carousel

Re, Bressingham's Steam Gallopers. It is highly unlikely that the ride will again be powered by steam as the engine and boiler unit are now exhibited in the museum building and the boiler has been sectioned to show the visitors what's inside. In recent times it has been difficult to find a steam tr...

Re: Printing a backflash

When I got my backflash printed for the Conveyor (see A Conveyor for Christmas in Build a Slot Machine) I downloaded the picture from Resources onto a memory stick and took the stick to my local 'one man band' print shop with the finished sizes that I required and he downloaded the stick into his c...

Re: Electric Amuser info needed

Hi Widget, I think that Gameswat is right when he says that we are overthinking this. If you think that the wiring is original then his guess is very probably correct; it makes good sense to me because the arcade owner, as well as the players, could also keep an eye on the machine. I'm guessing the...

Re: Electric Amuser info needed

Hi Widget, This is the contact breaker and it has to be adjusted to supply a consistent on/off current to the primary coil; a consistent buzzing is what is required. There are two coils wound concentrically inside each other. In the on position the low voltage primary coil is energised and in the of...

Re: Electric Amuser info needed

Hi Widget, Looking at your photos none of my ideas above are the solution so the only thing I can think is that the battery voltage is too high and it is overwhelming the control rod; it might be worth trying a lower voltage battery. In your very first photo at the start of this topic I thought tha...
