Re: BDR Breadbin

Thanks TF, I’ve been reading all the archives. Looking forward to giving it a good service. I love the engineering.

Re: First machine

Well said TF, seems like there’s a bit of pre decimalisation snobbery going on here ?

Re: First machine

I paid a local chroming company to strip what was left of the old chrome and then, because they were not confident of plating chrome into the fine splines on the front, they suggested just polishing the aluminium, which they did.

Re: First machine

PM, the chromed had difficulty with the fine splines so I just had it polished.

Hi, does anyone on here have a manual available for the BDR breadbin machine? Does anyone know anyone who may have spares?

Re: First machine

Brigham, it was like that and saved having to change the award cards, marquee, coin chute, escalator and payout slides. I like an easy life.

First machine

This was the first machine I bought a couple of years ago and it is the first I’ve done a full restoration on (using my limited knowledge) The plating was totally shot, the escalator didn’t work correctly and the reels had been ‘modified’ to reduce the winning chances. Stripped everything down to co...

Re: Time to ........

Why isn’t the market place on here used more to sell machines and spares ? In the absence of the Coventry auction and EH for the foreseeable future, it would seem ideal.

Re: Coventry Spring Auction 22nd March 2020

The last thing we would want would be for any of our older collectors to keel over and have their collections come up for sale afterwards🤔🤔🤔.

Probably the right decision though.

I reckon that’s been photoshopped in, doesn’t look real (sic) to me. Goodness knows what you’d get if you ordered one.

Re: Jennings Governor jackpot

Update, it looks like it is correct as the jackpot actuated, then refills on the next cycle. There is indeed an overflow chute from the coin tube to the top of the jackpot.

Jennings Governor jackpot

Just reassembling my Jennings and wanted to make sure this is the correct set up for the jackpot.

How exactly does the jackpot refill?

pennymachines wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2019 8:21 pm As you say, it's a terrific (and still underrated) bandit. As you're going to repaint, I trust you'll preserve the Union Jacks on the sides.
It only has a union jack on the opposite side to the handle. Think I might have to make a stencil to replicate it once I respray the cabinet.

Re: BDR Breadbin

Paul,

My lever is not even threaded where the grub screw should be!

Think I must be missing the latch bar.

Re: BDR Breadbin

Geordy you never explained what holds the handle in place? What's to stop it falling off once you clean and lube the machine and play with vigour? Maybe that latching lever already described by others has gone missing? Well actually nothing was holding it in place, I can only assume that the woodru...
