Re: Duo-Mat machine on 6 pence

We are talking about the coin or token used here, often different size tokens were used to original coinage. Not saying this the case, but is possible. What is clear is it paid in tokens if award card is correct.... Or, it made a 'token payout', as suggested above. Which, to me, seems the more like...

Re: Duo-Mat machine on 6 pence

I thought it unlikely that "...makes token payout 1/-" meant "One shilling in tokens".
After some thought, I decided it meant ' a token payment', a consolation prize because you lost on the Roulette.

Re: Bryan’s clock key to handle conversion.....

Is Joe Public still able to grasp the concept of Bryan's Clock?
I've always thought that the Fruit Bowl was introduced because the idea of 'big hand on red' had started to baffle the up-coming generation!

You can waste a lot of time talking to busybodies, and eventually you end up at the same point:

Re: Temple’s Penny Arcade Trailer Project

The artwork promises to be amazing.
You need the deep, heavy lead-based paints that the specialists use. Not sure where you would obtain them.

Re: Duo-Mat machine on 6 pence

The only thing I know specifically about these German machines is that I've spent years avoiding buying one, on the basis that having one of anything is fairly pointless. I'm only working logically from the information I'm given. If the machine has been working on sixpences, then it's unlikely to ha...

Re: Duo-Mat machine on 6 pence

The machine HAS worked in Britain, then. Splendid. Now is the time to ditch any further consideration of German currency, and concentrate on bringing the machine back to its operating state in this country. Is there any evidence of overlays having been fitted to the disc numbers? It would seem that ...

Re: Electromatic Wheel-Em-In

If it has uniselectors, it's likely to be a flasher. I wonder how the 'LOSE' indication works. On the only EdiStan machine I have, (Greyhound Stadium), the loser is shown when the odds and the winning dog don't match. Perhaps a hidden word 'LOST' lights up when the table has stopped flashing. I can'...

Re: Electromatic Wheel-Em-In

I'd like a close-up of the mech.
Soon tell if it's really a flasher, with a good pic or two. Would explain the apparent absence of anything to detect a win, though.
