Re: 4 pin starter for Jennings light ups

I have some, somewhere.
They are the later, discharge tube type, not the thermal ones, but they are a direct replacement.
I'll have a dig around tomorrow.

Re: No Room Left

There's a similar, greed-based TV show here in GB.
I have many interests, not just slot machines, and every time some interesting but not-worth-much item gets inflated out of all recognition, I get ready for the next burglary.

Re: Auction searches

The CALENDAR section on here would be a good starting place.
I went to my first slot-machine auction earlier this week. If you are more familiar with used-car auctions, you might need to take a little light reading with you to pass the time.
Tolstoy, for instance.

Re: Very odd flyer for "Harolds club" Reno

Harold's Club artwork WAS quirky.
I've seen a picture of Harold with no clothes on, wearing a barrel!

Re: Anyone had tokens made for machines?

..."The machines run with old pennies – it costs 1 token for 1 old penny, or 4 tokens for 8 old pennies..."
If the tokens aren't used in the machines, then what exactly is the point?

Re: SS Automatic Machine Co. Fascination identified

I didn't know that.
I set out to buy a Corn Exchange last year, but took a Bryan's clock instead.
Wish I'd bought it now.
Are there any other fixed-sequence machines known?
(Some of the early Jamieson 'flashers' were.)

Re: SS Automatic Machine Co. Fascination identified

It seems to be a future-pay, fixed-sequence machine like the Little Stockbroker or Corn Exchange.
There MUST be a payout arrangement hidden somewhere.

Re: SS Automatic Machine Co. Fascination identified

Seeing that there is no indication of the specific game on the casting, I'm inclined to think that the other three games use it as well.
All sightings welcome, as the ornithologists say...

Re: Hoopers Automatics Skill Score pinball machine

The hole through which the end of the bumper spring protrudes is frighteningly small.
It will certainly register at the slightest touch; but setting the springs, especially after years of use, looks like being a major job.

Re: Unknown Fascination machine?

I love these Greyhound Racers. They combine two of my interests.
It's certainly a change from the Clement & Whales/Caille types.
Three 'known' dogs on this one, too.
There MUST be a clue in 'S S', surely?

Crompton's Cover the Spot in view.
Who made the vast change machine? A very familiar sight.
I've ridden on the speedboats, but not in Bognor. Only two had outboard motors, the others just followed.
(I had to be on one of the two, of course).

I'm booked to view the Noble's auction at Gateshead (as mentioned hereon) this afternoon.
Does anyone want me to look at anything while I'm there?

Re: The future of our hobby and collaboration

The Clutching Hand fascinated me as a kid. I never won anything on it, but it was worth the penny just to see it work. I remember seeing one wearing rubber thimbles; obviously the low payout rate was too embarrassing for that particular operator. The example in the video seems to be in America. Has ...

First one I've seen with a polished metal playfield.
Looks like it, and the ball, form part of the bumper circuit.
I wonder how well it lasts in front-line service?

Can we have a close-up of the WORDING describing the 'free play' feature?
It may give us a clue.

Re: Star Warehouse, Camden Market

Star warehouse wasn't trading in 'vintage' slot machines. It sold all manner of 'used' amusement gear, and became popular among would-be enthusiasts in the same way as the 'one man and his dog' used car pitches did when 'old models' became collectable. It was originally frequented by the solo arcade...

I'll be visiting to see this rarity in action as soon as this virus carry-on is over.
Can you open the arcade as a protest against the American police? That seems to be 'essential' as far as the authorities are concerned.
