I'm doing a resto and fitting a new motor to one of these cranes. Daft I know, but I have forgotten which way the cam is meant to turn?? looking in from the left hand side door (coin mech side) should the cam be turning clockwise or anti clockwise. Anyone who knows and can help this idiot in Suffolk...

Re: British gambling restriction work-around
Nice try, doesn't work I'm afraid.
Being in the USA, John, you probably cannot do a search on eBay UK?
But I assure you, you cannot do a search for it from the UK!
I did copy and paste the exact title on a Worldwide eBay search but it didn't show up

Re: set of feet needed
Ah Merchantman feet. I managed to get a set of those a couple of years back after searching Hi and Low for 18 months. Mine were worn and badly corroded but being ali they polished up good enough............. I guess I was lucky as very hard to obtain the originals as they take a lot of punishment an...

Re: The late Dick Bueschel
Hi Bill It's great to hear from you and good to be reminded about the legacy and huge amount of literature that Dick Bueschel bought to this hobby. I think I speak for many UK collectors that have his reference works and I have found some of his coin slot guides invaluable for my own restorations! I...

Alan Partridge, lol!
Gotta love this Norfolk Bashing self centred phillistein!
Makes me laugh being a Suffolk Boy (by less than five miles)
I am told Norwich City Council blamed him for losing the prestigous city of Culture award a few years ago?
My missus hates his toe curling type of humour!

Re: Bad restoration on TV
I agree that American Restoration on History is corny as hell and extremely brash! That said, it is nice to see what people bring in and the obscene amounts of money they are willing to spend on them! But I think some may be missing the point here? IMO, seeing people make the family connection with ...

Re: Very Clever Idea.. How to Fool Ebay
I must admit, I have more than a passing interest in ebay as many of my machines were acquired and sold on ebay and I believe it is very sad the state of affairs that the antique slots are classed the same as the modern fruittys as far as the law is concerned. I think the petition is great, but real...

Re: Ebay & Gambling Licence
If the worse comes to the worse and you can't get your vintage slot auctions to run on ebay, why not just stick a video of a few games from your collection on Youtube. There are shed loads of old and new gaming machines on there and a few enquiries about whether they are for sale in the comments fro...

Certainly looks good, nice. He kept the original reel strips as the original Caille ones are quite desirable!
A nice machine but £4000 is not realistic in the current market IMO.

Re: Gawd ... not again!
My main area of interest is the 1930s/ Art Deco coin op but I also own two early eighties pinballs and they are appreciating quicker than my 1930s slots. Pinball has much broader appeal than bandits and wall machines and there are several vast collections in the UK as well as USA. I bought my last p...

Re: $1 tokens wanted for Jennings Prospector
Thanks Treefrog, I see you reside in Suffolk as well!
I have been offered 1000 NOS $1 Nevada Club tokens at 60 cents each, so cheaper than using real $1 coins which are currently going for $1,35 minimum.
Gonna pick them up in Vegas as going on holiday in November

Re: Buckley Digger
Hello Nigel, Just bought the same model (in very bad condition although mechanism seems original and complete) but I'm missing the metal top and side doors. If you have pics for me from the top and how it's constructed, I can help you out with the mechanism. Regards. I even went for a short break t...

Re: Buckley digger
Hi Pennymachines, Yes, it would have been a lot quicker and cheaper if I had bought the one in Nic Costa's auction at Christies a few years back! Although I did bid on it I just didn't have deep enough pockets to come up with the winning bid. Now it's the opposite, I have the money, but no time! I g...

Topic merged - site admin. Always wanted to restore one of these and have just started this one. Well, the plating, anyway. I acquired it from California. Cost an arm and a leg already. The bottom casting was so big I had to drive two hours to find a plating tank big enough. Aren't platers a fussy ...

$1 tokens wanted for Jennings Prospector
Can anyone help with this American beast! Has a massive 1000 coin jackpot ( note the special draw slung underneath the machine to catch the ton of coins) The window is empty as I only have enough $1 to fill the tube! Anyone got a load of dollar tokens they want to sell? I can get from the states but...

Re: Art deco slot machine found, seeking advice on value
Hi
You have a Mills Extraordinary slot machine circa 1933.
They look nice when restored , I love the Art Deco look myself.
As it stands it is worth around £200 but as much as three times that if nicely restored.
Hope this helps
Nigel
