Re: Bradshaws Little Stockbroker.
It's a conversion. They were converted from the boring stocks and shares. I have seen other variations - I have one featuring car manufacturers. By the way, I think I was the under-bidder on yours on ebay.

Re: Can you identify this machine for me?
Was that the machine in Doncaster?
Fourfive's machine looks like it was made after the New Tote and before the black one.

Re: Can you identify this machine for me?
I think these are great machines, vastly underrated. Incidentally they are made by BMR: Brecknell, Munro and Rogers (BDR came later- the Munro part becoming Dolman). This is a version I have not seen before.

Re: Ascot slot
This has a Pace lookalike jackpot, so it's a Mills/Sega type mech with a Pace type jackpot made in Italy - very interesting . Does anybody know if they were made under licence or did they just copy bits of machines they thought would work?

Re: Ascot slot
These, I think, are made in Italy. I had one and the mech was the same as a Sega but marked "Made in Italy".
Astor, by-the-way, made a Hi Top lookalike with a Pace mech, also marked "Made in Italy".

Re: 1927 "Bull's Eye" by Totem payout pistol problem
Hi, I think I saw one of these in the Carter 2006 sale. I remember seeing the ABT type castings on a strange case and assuming, wrongly it seems, it had been made up, so someone out there has another one.

Re: Steer a Ball - only not the usual!
I have had one of these so it's not unique. It's very well made, so I presume they intended to make a few of them. I think I put it in one of Steve's auctions. Don't know who made it though.

I seem to remember a similar one at one of Steve Hunt's auctions. Perhaps somebody might have taken a pic of it.

I have always assumed these are British, they certainly look it. They are not that rare - I have owned two in the past and I know where there are two more.

Re: Caille Ben-Hur
Hi Dave, I have not see the revamp 1928 Caille, has anyone any pics of one, as for the in the US, I have other observations: I am not aware of any made on 50c, it is 25 stops, it has the large payout cup, all the Ben Hurs I have seen have the half size one and 50 stops, the case is quarter cut oak, ...

Neither of these is made by Caille, they are English produced, probably by Clements in the 20/30s.

Bell-Fruit Manufacturing Co. bandits
Does anybody out there know what the purpose of these were. The badge is the same as the one fitted to a 1960s Bell Fruit with a Churchill crown in a fitted case. Could they be a prize?

Hi, I see everyone is avoiding this difficult question. I will stupidly try, it depends on a lot of factors - what's the condition like, is it restored, is it restored well, sympathetically, are all the parts original, is everything there, what coin is it on, have the payouts been altered, are the s...
