Mystery Quiz
Not seen one of these before, similar in some ways to a Beat the clock with the timer and appears to be made by Ruffler and Walker. Not sure what the walls behind the ratchet wheel do though

Star Wars - May the 4th be with you
Given it is Star Wars day, appropriately there is a bandit themed on the film on ebay.... It looks completely mechanical, but I cannot recognise the manufacturer. The mechanism is totally unfamiliar, but does have slides.... Anyone got a clue? It looks very late in manufacture.

Re: 6 way R&W allwin floor stander
Maybe this one was from Margate, given how close it is being in Folkestone ......
Seems reasonable at the price it is now for 6 machines, although needing a bit of work. There is something about these floor standing units that appeals to me, if only I had the room.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
Wow once a month  I am surprised they did not go onto bi-monthly initially. I don't think I can afford the diesel or time every month. The risk here also is the stock will quickly dry up and affect the reputation the EH auctions are now getting. The facts are there though, Steve takes debit c...

Re: Elephant House Auctions
Wow, sooo many machines and all I could do was walk away with the usual common bandits and probably too high a price as well.....The two machine I had my eye on were the "nixie" special bandit that reached for the skys in price terms and the Bryans Hidden Treasures, which maybe I should ha...

Re: Elephant House Auctions
Yes, certainly some quality looking items there, even ignoring the Bryans machines for a moment. I have my eye on one machine, which of course one has to keep one's self, but the machine so far I find most interesting/unusual is the Dual-Racer, what a wall machine, this looks great.....wonder who ma...

Re: Bryans Bumper
You know John, I wonder if you have something here, the payouts and misses are similar to a clock and would not take a lot to create some kind of actuator to trigger a vertical win bar, instead of the round clock award. All you would need is some kind of of mechanism that transfers the pressure of t...

Re: Bryans Bumper
I would have thought if the drawings exist, there would have been a few copies, like other rarer Bryans knocking about, Mind you if they don't exist, who would know and you could be imaginative and create your own version

Re: The Most Impressive Bryans Collection to be offered ever
Went to the EH ‘Bryans Preview’ yesterday, arriving at about 12.30 and staying around an hour. In that time less than a dozen others were viewing which was very pleasant in that it was easy to look at the machines and get the fronts off some to view the works. John And no pictures of the ins...

Re: The Most Impressive Bryans Collection to be offered ever
Interesting BP....I had observed the same myself as of all the Bryans machines, the Rockets appeals most to me, mainly for the theme. Having said all that I would not pay the silly money people would expect to get for one. I checked these against the two machines on Melvin's site and all the machine...

Re: Aristocrat Sheerline reel strips
I think your machine may be a mix of a few....... The three machines of this cabinet style are the Arcadian, Starlite and Sheerline.... as a group commonly called Sheerlines. The Sheerline normally have black curved style stands on the side and lift up at the front, with the lock at the bottom. The ...

Not a common Wonders machine, but also not in the popular wooden case.
Prices are difficult in this market as people seem to be paying good money.....I Reckon around £400....You could list in the auction on here or market or put into a proper auction....You may get more, who knows

Look forward to it and I guess at least the EH auction will set the tone in terms of prices.... Pictures will be good to allow people to decide on holding off as well......
So maybe the Bumper really does exist

Re: Coventry Auction Sunday 24th November 2013
Shame the auction is not going ahead, but of course it is no surprise given the competitive lot at the Elephant. Having said all that, the buying market is buoyant and I guess the next EH auction may confirm that. The nice 3 ball Bryans at the last EH auction fetched good money, so hopefully if the ...

Re: Slots in the following auctions....
Apologies Cheeky if you were bidding, but I had no plans to buy this, although I have always fancied one, but felt the price was just about right as it was on old penny.....just need to sort out the missing payout cup and door....The vendor was hidden and not described well mixed in with full size a...

Well Cheeky, I fancied that horse and fortunetly became the underbidder, as with commision ended up around £2400.....still. I did get the. Poorly advertised Kodak vending machine and stupidly the Bullion.......hope you checked out the insides as I never did.......tell me there was something inside a...

Re: bryans retreeva help
Wow that hard work has really achieved a find, well done. Onnly wish I had the stamina. In terms of woodworm, if signs of activity, e.g. fresh wood piles near the holes, just apply copious amounts of brush on treatment. I would do at least 3 times and allow to properly soak in. Cabinet certainly loo...
