Re: Coventry Auction - 29 November 2009

It's the lesser of two evils really, in order to be able to pay out the vendors on the day we need to get the money in first. As it was, and despite it all being explained in the conditions of sale in the catalogue and clearly spelt out by Jerry before the auction we still had two numpties who could...

Re: Coventry Auction - 29 November 2009

The Porter’s Report – Coventry 2009 Every year we say how pleased we were with the auction, and this year is no exception. Everybody pulled together and helped with putting up the tables, organising the table layout plans, checking admission by catalogue, security on leaving and putting the tables a...

Re: Coventry Auction - 29 November 2009

Thanks everyone for our best ever yet! Although I have the shortest journey of anyone (2 miles - just round the corner) I've only just surfaced and have still to get my thoughts together. I'll do a "porter's report" and post it on here as soon as I can. Hope you all got home safely with yo...

Stop the vane on top of the clock at the back, that will stop the cycle, line up the required winning reel combination and let go of the vane. Same for most 3 reelers................... assuming I've understood the correct meaning of "frig" ?

Re: Win Easy identified

Can anyone offer info on this domino themed allwin? It uses a 1 1/4" ball - presumably not steel, running on a flat brass track. Brass is also the choice of material for the painted backface. The lucky player receives only his coin back - no ball to replay! I see in the photo you've got the ol...

Re: What's this machine called?

I used to have a Snap when I was in my last pub. It never occurred to me to operate it and it lived in the garage with my Harley. Then one weekend we had a Hairy Bikers' do/BBQ/Live rock music sort of thing with camping in the back field. I suddenly realised that a whole bunch of our "guests&qu...

Re: Vintage Bally parts

Hi Lee.......... Welcome to the site. Bally electro mechs don't tend to figure highly in our ramblings on here, however we do have a couple of collectors who have during the last year dabbled in that direction. Hopefully one of them will be along later. Alternatively we have a live slots auction in ...

Coventry Auction - 29 November 2009

Going once, going twice …why keep going at all? Of course I’m talking about the live auctions that Jerry runs and I generally get in the way at. We’ve run five now, three in Coventry and two at Sarratt in Hertfordshire. I thought I’d take this opportunity to give some insight about how we’d like to ...
