Re: Ruffler and Walker Earth Satellite repair help

Well damn Bryans - I think you might be building my skill set up way beyond its decent ability!?! Not much to glean from that small blurry shot sadly. :o Unfortunately it's pretty much only a very small group of us who take the time to post photos and info when needed by someone.

Re: Vintage Slots in Films and Newsreels

Dennison purchased this Levitating Lady automaton in France around 1908 and built the case himself. In the 1920's his daughters revamped it into the then more current deco look. An example of the original automata (pic attached) sold at auction approx 2012 for $220,000! I was lucky enough to work on...

Re: Small turned metal parts

Amazing what you can lathe with a simple electric drill held in a vice, usually just a small hacksaw blade or files will make whatever you need. For more precise parts I found using a hand held grinder is fantastic, the speed of the grinder wheel matches the speed of the drill but at 90 degrees so y...

Re: BMCo auto prize payout allwin signage?

Yes PM, all the fade is added after printing. The BMCo original main name lettering in orange/red was silkscreened, then shadow added in green by hand using an airbrush. The dark blue "The" and "For Amusement Only" was hand sign written, then highlighted in orange by airbrush. Yo...

Re: BMCo auto prize payout allwin signage?

Pretty happy with the finished marquee but really should be after all the time and effort expended. :burp: Was not a fan of that shape at all to begin with but has definitely grown on me. Brackets shown are all my own hand made and distressed. I decided to keep the two rusty original pieces as patte...

Went into storage ok but not long after turned to shit. Other than a couple poor photos I have nothing and restored that game as something totally different years ago.

But if you read the full post I made Highfield it's just the wrapper artwork we were talking about, not a backflash.

Re: BMCo auto prize payout allwin signage?

ps are you taking orders? Well since nobody showed interest until the last day I wasn't planning on making many at all, and semi dismantled my tooling because of that! I currently have enough pieces to make a small run but after I've made a few I'll decide if I can even be bothered, and then what I...

Re: BMCo auto prize payout allwin signage?

Well dammit - the prototype is done and worked out! Made a 90 degree jig last night for brazing the corner joint to keep them all the same and square. And tonight bodged together another simple two part die to press in that strengthening ridge down the centre of the crossbar. I figured the simplest ...
