Re: It's Slick
No problem Tony if you need any further photos give me a shout. I love my Slick machine. It is the actual machine I played as a young kid.

Re: Recent purchases
Yes, bought it locally about 18 months ago along with a Ring a Bell machine. Definately a 'money taker' for the arcades, as very addictive!

Re: Recent purchases
IMG_1369.JPG Will keep an eye open for that promo film hopefully it will be repeated soon. Yes I probably should have bought that Ice Hockey machine too. The one I bought I bought purely as decorative wall display for my bathroom, as I'm getting into my wall displays these days. The auctioneer was ...

Re: Recent purchases
Thank you!! I was hoping no-one had clocked the slick machine lol ! but given I used to play this actual machine and the Grand National I would have went much higher as been looking for these two for years. The Ice Hockey machine I knew when I viewed it a couple of weeks ago it would have been a bra...

Re: Recent purchases
Thanks! Some of the signs and larger items were from Barry's Portrush indeed, though the older stuff was Barry's Bangor. No definitely shouldn't be any added paperwork for old machines like this going to the mainland, though a different story for sausages and cooked meat. In fairness, we have always...

Re: Barrys Amusements Bangor
It is indeed a real shame - such an unusual building too. It was in the process of being classed as a listed building but was destroyed in a mysterious fire late at night before it was listed.

Barrys Amusements Bangor
Lovely oil painting by a talented local artist of my childhood arcade Barrys Bangor with me and my mother walking past, sitting above one of Barrys machines.

Re: Decorative edge trim for an Exacta
Hi there, I bought the trim from ebay (here is a link), then put a black pinstripe down the centre. Trim comes in different widths and lengths and has its own sticky back: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15mm-x-5-metre-Chrome-Styling-Strip-Trim-for-Boats-and-Cars/271417807454?hash=item3f31c3125e:g:4hgAAO...

Re: Vintage Slots in Films and Newsreels
Charming video of my seaside town in better times. A lot of the art deco buildings in the video now sadly gone as is the very unusual Barrys building itself, all hit by mysterious fires at the dead of night while waiting for listed status.

Re: Electromatic Wheel-Em-In
Yes indeed, seems like a big cabinet for little action, when a wall mounted one would have done the job.

Re: Vintage Slots in Films and Newsreels
Here is Minnie with her keys, looks like she operated the arcade till 85 years old... Spent a lot of the 1970s in that arcade. Yes, Minnie closed it when she was in her 85th year. She kept her fish and chip shop and ice-cream business until she passed away in 1987. Her favourite machine was the Lau...
