Re: Rare Bryans Elevenses

Eek. I was away on my hols too. I have a nasty feeling this was for sale just down the road from me. Do you know what the vendor was asking for the machines?

Re: Who remembers this amazing dice gambling machine?

It was a pretty massive unit, which featured several playing stations located around a huge glass case, in which a rotating dice cage (resembling an egg timer in shape) would tumble two enormous felt-covered dice, on a playing cycle of around 15 seconds. Players would bet on the outcome of the dice...

Re: Official, the new Jennings

There will come a day IMO that the old 30s bandits etc. will lose value and the younger machines gain value. This is much akin to any collecting. Malcymal, you are so right. The newer stuff is rapidly picking up in price and the old, gradually getting less. Of course, there is the odd exception. Th...

Re: A good cheap Courier for heavy machines?

Well I did use Interparcel and it was a good service. A Sega Lite-Up weighs exactly 65kg and a Continential 70kg (I got that one wrong)!
Thanks again.......

Re: A good cheap Courier for heavy machines?

Thank you. I accurately weighed a Sega Continental and it weighed exactly 60Kg. I would have thought a Sega Lite-Up would be less, so 50Kg seems a fair estimate.

I actually carried the Continental and when I put it down I thought I was having a heart attack! :NBG:

Re: A good cheap Courier for heavy machines?

Thank you for all the replies. Does anyone know the weight of a Sega Lite-up bandit (Mad Money) type?

Re: Old jukeboxes and some help for a lady in distress!

A possibility but I am quite sure the lady concerned doesn't want to sell them blind and would prefer an indication of 'true' value.

Old jukeboxes and some help for a lady in distress!

Okay, I'm not that lady in distress but I know one who is and she is looking to sell some jukeboxes left by her husband. I've had a good look at them and it is clear they are all complete but probably need a good service. I know nothing about jukeboxes! Anyway, this is what she has. Wurlitzer Cabari...

Re: Stolen Machines

Why do you think it strange that a opportunist thief would steal coin operated equipment? In my experience a thief will take what they can get away with... Exactly, and an opportunist thief usually travels around in a van to collect their 'winnngs'! I don't think so and if this was an opportunist t...

Re: Mills Token Bell

Yes, mainly by me. I had thought about that but part involved several Ballys and a Kit Kat allwin machine so it would appear to be more local.

Re: Mills Token Bell

Ah. Well you paid more than £50 then. Still a great find! I got a great tip-off about six months back about a weekly market where at least one allwin turns-up monthly. They usually sell for £50, I was told. :D Guess what. I haven't seen one yet! :-? Then to cap it all a reliable chap told me exactly...

Re: Stolen Machines

An opportunist nicking a load of vintage slot machines. I don't think so! As for the defence, it will be an interesting one. I suspect that with wide enough publicity, the perpetrators will be found and, "I paid £200" for this down the market won't wash either. Let's at least start recover...

Re: Stolen Machines

I would suggest they were definitely stolen to order but they won't want all of them. One or more will turn up again at some point, Ebay being a favourite!

Got be one for " BBC TVs Crime Watch", as these machines are so rare and identifiable!

Re: Stolen Machines

Hello fellow slotties,

Have the villains responsible for this theft been captured yet?

Now someone out there must know what has happened to these machines. The collectors' community is so small that I am sure we can find out where they are.

What do you think?

Re: Coin Entry - Sega Lite-up Mad Money Types

Each to their own but a Sega Lite-up is a little more attractive and from past experience and talking to operators, extremely reliable. I will wait as I am sure I will be inundated with potential sellers!
:D
Now over to the marketplace to see how I make a request!

Re: Coin Entry - Sega Lite-up Mad Money Types

Okedoke. I was going to play around and try and change all that but it all sounds too complicated. So I need to try and find a Sega Copper Star or similar on old penny. Last year our church had a street party and this year I plan to use some of my old penny machines. All free, even the food, games e...

Coin Entry - Sega Lite-up Mad Money Types

Quick question. Can the chrome coin entries be easily changed for different sizes on these Segas i.e. 6d to 1d and vice versa? SkEpTiCaL

Re: Nostalgic Machines

Neither. I've seen them being operated and they just seem so reliable compared to the oldies. As for the cases, granted they are poor but remember there were some pretty poorly cased allwins in plywood and metal. Mark my words, one day the factory will burn down and then you will be sorry.
