Re: Aristocrat Arcadian 65 needs repair
Not that I've read the entire thread, but you know the forward tip/base of the real brake that looks similar to an upturned cupped hand? Well they can be twisted up or down slightly too. It sorted the issue with one of my machines years ago so may be worth a go?
Cheers,
Goodpenny.

Re: Movie, TV or famous ownership provenance
On the slightly off-topic subject of provenance - and no connection to film, my 1929 nickel Mills Poinsettia was 'discovered secreted behind a false wall in a small out building being demolished in Nevada'. Said out building was supposedly a hidden gambling den run by a Mr Tony Cornero during the co...

Ah G'day mate,
Greets from Melb.
Sounds like someone's put a dodgy coin in so just give the coin head a good check & clean. She'll be apples then cobber.

Re: Morphy auction January 2017
Apols for the delay in replying (been arranging dearest old friend's cremation and construction tenders are flooding in). Thx Tom for the PM. Well, the cast base plate, frame and various parts have Middlehurst & Sons Sydney or M&S cast in relief. 3331 is stamped in the reel window frame and ...

Re: Aussie laws gone crazy
Sorry for the late response but would like to contribute my two (old) penny's-worth. Way back in the early nineties when I decided I wanted to buy old one-armed bandits - antique ones, not ex-club Aristocrats from over the border in NSW (I'm VIC), I sought advice from the Gov't gambling regulator an...

Re: Machines wanted
Hello Pete, Andy P here down in Upsidedownland. I have 13 antique Mills/Jennings/Watling & Keeney machines which sadly, due to loss of job have to be off-loaded. Probs not best for an arcade but if you're a collector of truly wonderful old slots mine are pristine, 100% ridgy-didge originals. Am ...

Great to hear it arrived all well Mr treefrog and BP's right on the 'look'. Not sure why your's does'nt have a serial number as mine's in the casting by the Middlehurst & Sons cast. As for the colours; Am not 100% sure but Aussie slots were generally pale blue & grey. Still, gorgeous piece i...

First time here in ages but heck Bob what a great article, thanks. Yourself and Gameswat certainly know your stuff - and where to find it.

Yeah, well this is the pub right?
Been a while ,,, the doctors simply wouldn't believe I was better now ,,, so I proved 'em wrong and had my book (Punk in the Gym) published. Ran a few coins through my old slots this evening and they played & paid perfectly. Mate dar'nt boozer says he has a 'really old, antique' slot he found in...

Nice thought Jingle, could do myself a 'special deal' and sell 'em to myself for half price! Sad I know, but still a bit more than Badpenny offered! Sorry, I'll go away again now. You have a pint in at my local club by the way. Probably a tad warm & flat since you last threatened to return to Oz...

Oh thanks Jeremy, Dave, Kind words indeed. Yes, it has been a while... though I've dropped in for a look over the years. I can barely do ten pull-ups now. Whoever famously said 'Age Shall Not Weary Them", with all due respect, wasn't meaning ancient ex rock climbers! Merry Christmas to all. Che...

Honestly! Have you people no compassion, or empathy? Surely the oldies among us recall I told you I lost my own father to one of them Daleks on Dr Who when I was five (or was it a Yeti?). Thanks for ruining my Christmas. (Plus that hot bird on Channel 7 promised us 38c today and its only 34). !!GRUM...

Re: Mr PM's HNY wishes and hoping someone makes the find of the decade (before jingle that is!!) it might be of interest to many what the previous year's highlights were - all in one place.
Just a random thought ..which takes my posting count to 2.

Re: Can anyone tell the brand/make of this Australian bandit
Hi again, The mech in ybot's pics looks very Nutt & Muddle/Jubilee(ish) to me and it wouldn't surprise me if Sapphire (Apex Amusements - Ray Smith) simply re-cased Jub mechs in their own cabinets. Tooling up to produce mechs was a rare event indeed. As for mr pennymachines' Ace-Hi well, Ace-Hi (...
