Re: Bryans Gapwin Project
I believe the term 'nob' is often directed at some types at the opposite end of the social scale.....just saying !!ESCAPE!! I'm pretty sure the one Elevenses I have left (I've owned many Elevenses and Fivewins over the years) has two thumb stops, one each side of the payout knob, which I always thou...

Happy New Year everyone, let's hope it's a good one, or is that perhaps a little over-optimistic?

Re: BMCo identification
That's because much of it isn't original, having been fabricated more recently.
But an honourable endeavour to keep a 90 year old allwin from the skip.

Re: BMCo identification
The cup configuration is something like a Little Mickey , which would normally have had a Green baize playfield, rather than that stripy plastic backflash (which I doubt is original whatever the allwin is). I also doubt that the stainless steel profile behind the coin cups is original, and probably ...

Re: Bryans Rockets for restoration on ebay
Yes, of course! But looks like you're going to need it - that will be one hell of a restoration job.…….wish me luck
.....I do like your very laid-back interpretation of 'surface rust' but once again, good luck Tom

Watling were certainly still producing (or at least selling) the chessboard front machines in 1950.

Re: Spicers Auction 24.11.2023
Yes, the Conveyor does look very bright and shiny, for a machine 70 + years old. My guess is it's one of a number produced by Terry Powell around 15 years ago. I've never come across a 'triple' regardless of age. The Disney models are fantastic, but I agree that the TV studio scene would appear to d...

Re: Punch and Judy Allwin - rough value?
Firstly, it's not an allwin - it falls into the very broad generic term 'wall machine'. More specifically, you could probably refer to it as a 'coin kicker'. It's not old, anywhere between around 10 - 20 years, and was made in China. As for value, as always, it's worth what someone will pay for it. ...

Re: Allwin identification
It could be a Whales Spitfire (that would possibly have been a Saxony conversion), where someone has replaced the backflash with a Bryans stripy backflash and then put the aeroplane back. Or it could just have been a bog standard Saxony type machine to start with, with the aeroplane added from anoth...

Re: Is this as special as it seems to be?
Depends what you mean by special - I'd bet my house it wasn't produced by Bryans. Note that there appears to be a small piece of timber added to the case above the doors, which probably implies that the case has been adapted, rather than having been built specifically to house the Bryans doors. If s...

It's an Essex machine - as far as I can remember, the disc does spin freely, unlike the Bradshaw Little Stockbrokers that just bounce around a bit.
