Re: Help with Win a Crunch
Mechanically done. Just needs the glass when it's ready and a layer of finish on the wood once it warms up. It deals out the Kit-Kats perfectly now after a little extra grinding in the corners on the slide.

No codes at all on the locks. The only identifiable mark is Yale.

Re: Help with Win a Crunch
Although the key I made worked, I didn't like the look of it, so I did what anyone else would do. Look for blanks on ebay. I found several Yale blanks that looked like they should work, but I wanted to make sure I didn't get a key that was too small. Of course vendors on ebay never post proper measu...

Re: Help with Win a Crunch
What are the odds that the bar is the same size? That being said, I should go buy a few decades of Kit-Kats, so it works in 25 years for my future grand kids.

Re: Help with Win a Crunch
Or I could just make a new bolt on part that works 100%. The machine itself isn't modified. The old one was unscrewed and the new one gets bolted on in its place. The same linkage is leveraged. The only thing that's left to do is make it foolproof. Kit-Kats have flappy wrappers that pose some cloggi...

Re: Help with Win a Crunch
Now to get the Machine dealing out KitKats, instead of Crunch's. I'm just rebuilding the mechanism from scratch. Never used a candy bar as a dimension before..

Re: Star Wars stuck
I've got a White Water pinball machine, so I'm familiar with the mechanics of the newer ones.
Have you tried going through the test procedures to confirm that the switches and solenoids are working properly?

Re: Star Wars stuck
welcome aboard! Have you ever raised the playfield? If so, you may have to test out the solenoid that supposed to be kicking the ball out. There could also be something jammed in the outhole preventing it from ejecting. Sometimes pieces of the rubbers get lodged in there. If that's the case then you...

Re: Help with Win a Crunch
Here's what the key should look like. JustKey.JPG Here's how that was determined: key.JPG And the dimensions, in inches: keyDims.JPG Of course this is assuming that the tumblers are squished together with no gap. I'm guessing that about .005" need to be added per tumbler to allow for corrosion ...

Re: Help with Win a Crunch
So, as you can see in the earlier photographs, there was one corner that was cracked off and it was a pretty decent size and it was extremely warped. First thing I did was place down on a piece of paper, held it flat and traced it. At that point I had the original size. I had feared that the heat wo...

Re: Help with Win a Crunch
That's why this will be handing out kit-kats and not crunchs. I thought about doing some painting on the back, but for the few small areas, it won't really be worth it to acquire the paint, match the colors and then get it perfect. If I leave it at is, there's some paint flecks missing and that's be...

I thought about doing some painting on the back, but for the few small areas, it won't really be worth it to acquire the paint, match the colors and then get it perfect. If I leave it at is, there's some paint flecks missing and that's because it's old. If I paint it and it doesn't match perfectly, ...

Re: Help with Win a Crunch
Looking better already. It took quite a bit of heat to flatten out the backflash. 300ºF in the oven. I started at 170ºF and increased at 20º increments until it would be soft enough to flatten. The paint on the backside is very delicate, so I lost a few flakes around the existing holes. I had to dri...

Re: Oliver Whales lock
AutoCAD.... crikey, clever stuff. I wouldn't have a clue where to start - it would be a bit of sheet steel, a hacksaw, file, and uneducated guesswork for me. :!?!: :HaHa: I'll just pop out the tumbler levers, draw them up in autocad, spin them around the pivot point and it'll show exactly what the ...
