Confirmed by the two semi circular cut-outs in the back-board to allow the handles to pass through.

Welcome to the Forum Nick, your machine mechanism looks to be a typical conversion from an old Saxony reserve ball machine (1920s/1930s) housed in a cabinet from around that time and appears to have French style chrome fittings - coin cup, lever/backplate. The hammer cover box is from a 1950s-1960s ...

A rather nice late 5 win in streamline case that was at a Knowle auction around 2008 showing the 'other' direction of stripe and rectangular payout cup.
