Re: (another) newbie with Q's about (another) Jennings Gover
A cracking Jennings and, as per the thread around values, would suggest this is the top end - looks very unmolested.

Re: Maintenance
Looks like one of Henry Powell's Hi Tops.... Like the colour, I have a Sega Lite-up in the same and looks good. Nice stand as well, somewhere to keep all the spares. Best maintenance on a slot machine, is keep the door on (keep out dust etc.) and, secondly, regular use or at least pull a few coins t...

Re: Which auction is best?
Surprised BP and Jerry have not responded to this one. I suspect the simple answer is, Coventry is a collectors' auction for this hobby, whereas the Elephant House is an auction house dealing in a number of collectible items, so less slots. This is very evident by the fact probably 100% of the atten...

Re: Revamped Beromat-type Bandits
Oh dear, I have one - same yellow plastic surround, but called Alpine...... I quite like mine in an odd way and, yes, if this was near me I would buy, as usual.Jonesthegarage wrote:Not another contender for the ugliest Beromat derivative - this isn't a contender, it's the undisputed champ

Re: For sale
Yes, the three reeler would have been called the "Mills Three Crown". The Hi Top is certainly a Bell-O-Matic with the plastic award, but I wonder if this is a special for the Horseshoe Casino. I think the name for the 4 reel chrome Hi top was a Mills Hi Top Deluxe Chrome (see video). Bell-...

Shilling awards
After the discussion about the size of a shilling, someone pointed out to me that, of course, a lot of bandits from the '50s and '60s which operate on 5p, as per the award, either must be later machines or have been changed, which is no surprise, through decimalisation and would have happened from 1...

Re: For sale
I have never heard of the Bell-o-Matic, but it is a good looking machine and I would like to read that article. Bell-O-Matic, I had always assumed, was a later name for the Mills corporation, especially when they move from Chicago to Reno, but interestingly, as the decal below suggests, they were d...

Re: Sega Diamond 3 Star
I have measured a stack of old 5p coins and 20 coins is about 35mm. Individually, on a measure, they look about 2mm, but are slightly less. Cannot find my micrometer to confirm. The diameter is about 24mm, so about right. Did you measure the whole stack of slides and was this 40mm, as per your sums?...

Re: Skittles
Yes PM, I think you're right, they would have been very big skittles to knock over and, as Coppin states, the coins would have just blocked the field..... Looked a clean item - here is the link to the ebay listing. The seller states it was made in London on a sticker on the inside: SKITTLES RETRO AM...

Edistan Automatics Skittles
Not seen one of these before: Skittles, what looks to be an old '60s penny roll down game, but I cannot work out how it works, e.g. where the coin goes etc....

Re: "King" Machine
Another one of the Gunter Wulf/Beromat type conversions. Not very rare, but what is rare is to get one with a non broken case, as most seem to have. Not my appeal, they look a bit cheap, but should not be expensive... Seen them in Red, Yellow and Blue, but there may have been other colours.

Re: Brighton Jukebox Show
I thought the Jukes with CD players were repros..... A good restoration of a classic jukebox does look good, but I know that chroming of a lot of the parts on these machines is a real problem, due to some parts being chrome plastic or pot metal that never takes properly. Also, a lot of the parts are...

Re: The Duomat/Duolett/Rondomat search continues!
Well you have got me hooked into looking at my machines now and working out how they operate. My Scottish barn pile needs a total strip down as old grease and grime has slowed the mechanism to a snail, so for another day, but is complete. The complete one with the occasional payout issue I believe i...

Re: Mills Springs? Where did they go??
I bought one of those when rebuilding one of my first machines, not touched the box since as most of the springs are too big or over tensioned for slot machine use, also don't look the part. I have used older spare springs so far and not needed to buy any proper ones so far. The person selling them ...
