Re: Calling all WHALES

Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops. The other one's difficult because, although Jentzsch & Meerz seem to have originated the classic Saxony allwin, these were extensively modified and copied in the UK. The only features deviating slightly from J&M's are the spandrels and the payout knob. Spandrel...

Re: Shefras boxing machine

It's an unusual and fun game but unfortunately very rare. I've only seen two come up for sale in my years of collecting (the one at Pete's arcade is one of them). There are one or two others around. See Pugh Automatics Prospector & Rolitina

Re: Ebay prices getting out of hand

...the old idea that reserves encourage more bids (which I guess is what Mr P means) I'm not familiar with that idea. :!?!: ...what I meant was simply starting the auction at that point instead of wasting time... I think you miss the psychology point. If reserves are high or the buyers aren't there...

Re: Does anyone have pics of the Brenco Mystery Arrow?

Lot 56. A ‘Mystery Arrow’ coin operated pedestal cabinet machine. No image unfortunately. This was at Barry’s Amusements Auction in 1975, but I've yet to see one myself. Sadly the Brenco Museum website is no longer online, but some of it's recorded at https://web.archive.org/ Gallery 1: Mystery Arr...

John Carter with Roger Daltrey

1988: Rock superstar Roger Daltrey was on hand to open the latest attraction at Carter’s Steam Fair – an old penny arcade. The Who frontman had known fair owner John Carter for more than 20 years and shared his enthusiasm for old fairground items. Roger said he used to collect roundabouts which he ...
