Re: Harper cigarette machine
That's a good looking machine and what's more, it comes with its history too. If you do manage to get the front off, inside it should have a certificate that will tell you who checked it before it left the factory and what date that was.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
For me it’s the same thing that pops up everytime this subject comes up. I have been to my fair share of Coventry Auctions over the years and it’s the hanging around and waiting to pay after the auction that puts me off. I’m aware of the counter argument of it being an opportunity to mingle and netw...

Re: BAC Medicine Vending Machine
One of my favourite machines. I was thinking that the machine was designed to be in the more salubrious location. A hotel lobby perhaps. Rather than left unattended on a railway platform. Wouldn't take much to pop the locks on her and make off with the goodies as well as the money.

Re: Coin mechanism
Hi Ya... I have something very similar to what you have in the picture on a 1D. Which I think might be adaptable to what you have there.
If you contact me off forum I can send a picture. I have a box full in different denominations so you are welcome to one to try..

Re: pearl automatic vending machine date ?
I think you have done a great job. My Devonshire Milk is probably too far gone now so might just get motivated to have a go at restoring mine.
May need to come to you in the near future..

Re: pearl automatic vending machine date ?
I have a picture of one that seems to suggest late '20s, early '30s. It's in a row of machines at a railway station. To my knowledge they made three different types: Pearl Drops, Ambrosia Devon Milk and Clear Drops. I have a good original Pearl Drop and a poorer original Devon Milk. As you say, they...

Re: Beware the Elephant House Auctions
If it helps... I can physically pick the machine up the next time I am up that end of the world (about 2.5 hours from me) and you can then arrange to have it collected from me. I'm sorry but I don't have the knowledge to arrange the shipping for you.
Its an option..

Re: Cigarette vending machine info needed
Looks like a mighty fine job done there.. I did look at it myself a while back and decided I had too many projects and not enough skill to do it justice. Well done.
Don't know anything about the maker etc I'm afraid...

I'm in the same boat as 'Special'. My knowledge is very limited. I have helped out a few times with vending related stuff.
I do however follow the forum a couple of times a day and enjoy sharing the knowledge of others. So please keep it up it's much appreciated.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
Having attended a few Elephant House Auctions I would only ever buy now if I had previously held the item in my hand.
I did once leave an absentee bid and then spent four weeks or more trying to get it refunded back when it wasn't even placed.
