Blocked emails & website downtime
Sorry folks, we're likely to be offline shortly and then it may take between 6 to 72 hours before you can view these pages again. Over recent months several people did not receive the auto-generated emails required to activate their accounts after joining the Forum. Investigation revealed that notif...

This flyer is the only image I could find - not much help for copying graphics, but better than nowt.
The fairly simple signage on this similarly card-themed Reel Deal may also give some clues.

Re: Dad's Army crane
Yes, I tested them yesterday and again today - worked both times. They're hosted on Funny-Videos.co.uk which is less likely to take them down than YouTube. Their videos seem rather slow loading, probably because they have a fraction of YouTube's bandwidth, but if you give them long enough to connect...

Re: Cromptons Tip-Em-Off... HELP!
Hi Stuart - in case you hadn't spotted it, you might get some idea about the arrangement of the tippers from the enlarged picture of a Crompton Tip-Em-Off in my Arena article on Portable Penny Pushers - Page 4 . It's the same scheme as the Jamieson See-Saw , next to it. Looking at your picture, I th...

Yes, I've never seen them on any other coin. There are some shabby ones for sure. I guess they had hard lives.

Re: Mills Pocket Vest
Mills introduced the Vest Pocket in 1938 and Sega acquired the rights to manufacture it in the 1950s, rechristening it the Mini-Sega. These seem to turn up more frequently, in the UK at least. For that reason, I imagine it would be a cheaper alternative.

Re: Payramid on German Ebay
I hate the way you have to be a forensic scientist to get a clue about who's buying stuff on eBay nowadays. The buyer, m***h has bid three times in the last 30 days. This bid is in the German category Sammeln & Seltenes > Automaten and the previous two in the British category Clothes, Shoes &...

Re: Payramid on German Ebay
No problem JP. I didn't really expect it to slip through the net. I predict the price will rocket in the last few seconds and it'll go to a tall, dark gentleman from Germany.

Hi Mark Sorry about that. The Arena subscription software just ain't up to scratch. It seems to fail almost 5 times out of ten. Re: Tap a Fruit & Cascade
I think Triple-Tap is Brenco and Tap a Fruit is Jezzard . There are several British all-mechanical and electro-mechanical games of this type, but fingerschlägers (finger-strikers) are really a German and Scandinavian speciality. I've created a new Dropcase Games category for them in See It Operate! ...

Re: Double Diamond Allwin
I rediscovered this post whilst researching Amusement Machine Mart (Shefras).
Jerry's correct - Double Diamond was made by that company in 1953, as the old advertising sheet proves (see MMM issue 48 and here in Resources).
I'll send the results of my little Shefras round-up to the mag.

Re: Mastermatics 'master Football machine'
The Master Football Game was made Circa 1957 by the Master Vending Machine Company of Southend (with an office in Wardour Street). Insert coin to release coloured balls and fire them to top of playfield. They trickle down and you score points for getting them into matching coloured ball traps. There...

Re: Who remembers this amazing dice gambling machine?
Hey OB, ain't you gonna buy that baby? I've been mulling the question ever since Potless posted this topic - how to read freely thrown dice. Magnets concealed in the die and reed switches below is the best I can come up with. I think such a system might allow detection of several faces but not six s...

Re: Cascade wood finish?
I'm not sure what the cabinets are made of - a dense-grained hardwood, possibly iroko, with similarly veneered ply front. Being a '70s machine, the rather thin matt finish might be polyurethane. I'd probably go for Danish or Tung Oil over diluted teak wood dye.
