Confirmed by the two semi circular cut-outs in the back-board to allow the handles to pass through.

Re: New member with allwin

Welcome to the Forum Nick, your machine mechanism looks to be a typical conversion from an old Saxony reserve ball machine (1920s/1930s) housed in a cabinet from around that time and appears to have French style chrome fittings - coin cup, lever/backplate. The hammer cover box is from a 1950s-1960s ...

A rather nice late 5 win in streamline case that was at a Knowle auction around 2008 showing the 'other' direction of stripe and rectangular payout cup.

Re: Bryans Fivewin stripes

For many years they went from bottom left to top right, however, in later years they went from bottom right to top left. It was suggested that Jim Bryan got it wrong when he ordered a batch in the 1970s but who knows? These 'back to front' backflashes are often found on machines that have the later ...

Re: Elephant House Auctions

Dual Racer is a nice machine, if you look closely it only has one slot. I was shown one of these a few years ago (could be the very same) but could not afford it at the time and if my memory serves me right, when you put in your penny, it is then propelled around the track in the right hand game and...

Re: New allwin projects

I think it was originally a reserve ball machine and the metal back plate has been replaced when converting it as it bears no evidence of any reserve mech being attached. The lever arm activating the payout slide has all the holes required for a reserve mech machine.

Re: new projects

The Allwin Deluxe was probably made between WW1 & WW11 the case looks 1920s -ish. The 'made in Saxony' label was used widely on imported German machines instead of 'made in Germany' - for obvious reasons. The patent number refers to a patent dealing with the ball release mechanism commonly used ...
