Re: Trump makes last ditch attempt to tempt voters

....... I love democracy, it throws up surprises as it should, as if we always assume to follow the normal political system and standards, nothing really changes. ..... Not sure this qualifies as anything more than a facsimile of 'democracy', TF. It seems Clinton won more votes than Trumpy, but the...

Re: Trump makes last ditch attempt to tempt voters

I laughed my arse off in disbelief (as, I am sure, did the leaders of China and Russia). The world became a much less safe place to live last night. On a lighter note, I do find it hilarious that Nigel Farage can now claim to have influenced two historical political events in a) Britain quitting the...

I read your post, Paul, and got a slap from the wife when I mentioned it had been a while since I got my hands on a couple of thrupenny bits. I guess she is not one for pre-decimal coins. !PUZZLED!

Re: Great wire brush set for use in drills

Thanks, Paul. I will pop into Chichester and see if they have any. Hmmm... I'd better take the Landrover, though. The missus will be there and it will be like taking a kid to a candy store, except that she does not take 'no' for an answer! :!:

Re: Only saying ..........

Good thread! Some interesting contributions (particularly from our USA correspondent, JP). This is undoubtedly a most excellent site for followers of vintage slot machines and it is always a pleasure to follow the various topics. Clearly, there are a small number of slot Masters who are willing to g...

Re: brooklands bolts

Thinking about it, here's what I would do: Get some stainless steel 4BA round-head screws (4BA are a bit bigger than M3 but smaller than M4). Put them up in the lathe and face-off the heads until the slots disappear. Then round-off the heads to a shallow radius with a file, and then polish. If you ...

Re: Matthewson (Automatic Sports Co.) games

I remember my Gran telling me that a lot of stuff like iron railings, gates, etc. were taken to feed the WW1 war effort. I wonder if the cast iron machines met the same fate, hence their scarcity after 1915?

Here is a machine that takes the "ugly" award in at least two categories, ugliest trade stim and ugliest Jennings machine. This one is their upgraded "Star Vendor" model with gum ball vendor(still in place on this one), they were a massive failure partly because the bronzed case...

I've never heard of the T.V. show by that name. I think Paul might be right. TV series info at Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manhattan_(TV_series). Also, google info shows similarities between the certificate images and the website details. Personally, I think the machine is a piece of h...

What an excellent chap. Very 'old school' and a delight to observe. I particularly enjoyed the lesson in catching and filleting a sea bass. Just like my Dad taught me nearly 50 years ago. Shame I was not so good at learning how to catch 'em, though. xX><Xx

Good to hear the British taxpayer continues to do it's bit for the economy of poor old China.

Damned shame they can't do the same for the British steel industry. '!'

Re: Your thoughts on a non slot subject please

I do not wish to be a killjoy, but these are not bikes; they are motor powered vehicles ("Max speed 15mph but built to go faster"). "No insurance required"? I can see a nightmare coming for anyone unfortunate enough to be whacked by one of these machines being driven by a redbull...
