Re: Bryans case dimensions needed

Most people would not admit to selling a machine through an auction, but I believe your Bryans has had a bit of a journey..... You probably saw the same machine on ebay about 5 weeks ago, which I bought from John Morely, straight from his mobile arcade, well shed then arcade. He had used it for 20 y...

Re: Bryan's crane and 'what the butler saw' on ebay this wee

Yes, I did not realise how small these Bryan cranes were, may even fit in my estate, just not in the house !PUZZLED! The viewer was at the elephant house a few times and I am pretty sure although the top artwork looks old, the actual marque is not original and is from something else...does work thou...

Re: Allwin honest Joe

I should have posted on here at the time, but about a month ago there was one in an auction in Sussex for sale, finished at around 460 pound mark..... They do come up from time to time. Do have one, but want to keep... Good luck with your hunt.

Re: Mills Golden Nugget on ebay

I was quite interested in this as the mechanism looks OK, e.g. older Mills and has original back door and a Hi Top dagger handle... I did get some piccies of the inside, as if the front castings were real I would have gone for it and dumped the golden nugget rubbish and replaced with a Black Cherry ...

Re: Bloody Olympics

It is interesting, one of the more recent motivations for hosting Olympic, beyond pride has been the supposed regeneration and wealth it will bring a deprived area or economy.....The problem has been been over the last 20 years, this generally has not happened, look at Atlanta. In Greece they became...

Re: How can you tell the difference between mechanisms?

Truth be told, I guess the right answer, without physically seeing it, you cannot definitely tell. In terms of reproduction, I guess what is a repro? There are some subtle tell tell signs that allow one to make good judgement from a picture. E.g., I have never seen a Sega with the diamond-shaped sta...

Re: Newbie questions

The answer is, not all machines, as later machines usually were normal handle/ball, early machines, e.g., 30s and earlier would have had a dagger handle. In the 50s it would have been an optional extra. Dpolley, being another Suffolk lad, are you looking for your first machine, or do you already hav...

Re: Newbie questions

Looks all Mills to me, it is the one on ebay for £400 Mills one arm bandit A Mill-O-Matic MIlls machine made in Nevada. A few bits have been changed over time, eg reel strips and the 6d badge is from a Sega. These would normally have a square bit of perspex on the inside with the coinage on. (These ...

Re: Ruffler & Walker allwin payout knob

Having watched your machine develop at such a rapid pace, when you mentioned casting your own handle, I sort of assumed something a little cruder, that is incredible and definitely an item for the magazine, well done **xXx** I for one would like to learn your natural talent and fascinated on the typ...

Re: Allwin Identity

It doesn't look right, it was spotted by my sister in a small antiques shop, I think it may not even have any mechanicals as a close up show does not even show a hole for the pay cup...and there are no hinges, so guess they are cabinet one's, Never mind, I will tell to keep looking, she is onto the ...

Allwin Identity

Anyone recognise the below allwin? I haven't seen in the flesh, so poor picture. It sort of looks home-made with a crude flicker and I am wondering if it is just for looks as the coin cup again looks crude. A nice case though.

Classic Buckley

It looks fairly original and in good condition and the top flash is great, with a nice bottom lit up light and great simple text...

Re: Not only machines .... Coins as well!

Problem is prices have actually fallen for silver from it's peak. It was close to $50 at one point and is now more than a third below this.....It's all about perceived economic stability, during and after the banking crisis people sought stability, then there was high oil prices and then the Euro cr...

Re: Reproduction on not?

No one will guarantee this here I suspect, but I have a repro Eagle so have some idea what to look for. Also would be helpful to see a picture of the inside without the mechanism in. The case look original half top case. The escalator is a roll down, all the teeth have been snipped. The mechanism is...

Re: Newbie questions

I think I had seen the same machine at another auction and avoided looking at the electric, but could have been another I guess... There was a string of bandits that sold at Gerrards in St Anns yesterday, including below....The Hi Top made £380 excluding commission which seemed high, but the bargain...

Here is another slot almost certainly illegally using the Olympic name and rings. I believe there are only a small handful of companies allowed to use the Olympic name, eg the airline. Supposed to be one of the most protected names and symbols....
