Re: Rex Rotor problem
If I read this right, the machine is tripping the RCD in the house before blowing the fuse.
If it is, you have probably got a neutral to earth fault occurring.
An overcurrent fault should take either the trip or the plug fuse out.

Re: Bally Electro Mechanical owners
Timmo, How much of a project are you looking for? I have a couple of Ballys that I might be willing to part with. Two are almost finished projects and one is a complete start and I can't recall what the last one is. !PUZZLED! I am just outside Portsmouth. I would be willing to part with one to the r...

Make your own parts
I was reading yesterday how scientists are now able to 3d print with metals. How long before we can all have access to this technology? It was not long ago 3d plastic was new technology, now look how far it's come. Just think, the ability to print out new parts for your beloved relics.

Shipping from Dublin
Just wondering if any members knew of the cheapest way to have something shipped from Dublin. Said item is £250, the weight is, say, about 85kg. Looked at collecting myself, but the ferry was £295 return, so wondering if anyone knew of a regular traveller who might bring said item over. I could coll...

Re: New Addition - Bally Sir Prize
the bar hole positions are ok but everything should move freely those arms the bars are attached to should be pulled forward by the springs if they arent then they want cleaning and the latch pawls the other end of those bars should move freely that old grease can set solid they really want cleaning...

Re: New Addition - Bally Sir Prize
I'm just off to work, doing a late shift tonight, but, without getting my book out, they determine the length and order of stopping. If you move each bar 1 hole forward, you will see. You can always move them back. Is there a definite touching to the bottom plate? The springs should pull those lever...

Re: New Addition - Bally Sir Prize
Those bars do sit close to the ground. Make sure that on the first reel, the bar at the front is in the second hole on the bar, the second reel in the 3rd hole, and the last reel in the fourth. Check this, then we will look from there.

Re: New Addition - Bally Sir Prize
Make sure you have cleaned every bit of gunk off. Also check the bars underneath. They should be in different holes: 1st reel in hole 1 nearest the front, and then the second and third reels accordingly. And most of all, and it can be boring, keep playing it. They seem to get better the more you pla...

Re: Call Bally Experts - Ebay - Should I, Shouldn't I?
Hi malcy, I owe you a bit of an apology - I ended up buying the 4 reeler against my better judgement. I should have taken my own advice. On getting it home, it has totally the wrong hopper in it. Not much chance of getting another one so am going to adapt this one. The one you were interested in - I...

Re: Call Bally Experts - Ebay - Should I, Shouldn't I?
Malky - I have a 4 reeler which is why I didn't fancy this one, as I have one almost the same. Mine is a Slimline Super on 10p play, 200 coin jackpots. The 5 reeler I think is the E series. I spoke to the guy and there is no hopper for payouts - it's all paid to a credit meter. I don't think it coul...

Re: Re-Chrome
I did actually sand it down to so the chrome was removed. The paint is Halfords Peugeot Royal Blue with a coat of lacquer on top. It does chip, so wondered if a stove enamel finish would be better. Just trying to gauge what people think of a non-chromed finish. At least with paint you could choose a...

Re: Re-Chrome
OK, given up with rechrome due to cost and it's a shame to let a machine go because of badly pitted chrome.
So what you think, right or wrong? Answers appreciated.

Got that feeling of deja-vu. I do apologise and thanks to Op Bell for the correction !!THUMBSX2!! Next time I must get up and look and not rely on my fading memory. I`ve just looked at the three in the shed: two are fused in the neutral and one through the live but the cords' colours are brown and b...

Re: Mains in Bally machines...
If you really want help, join newlifegames.net - Yank site but all very helpfull and very knowledgeable with loads of old posts to read through. I don't think I have had a Bally yet that the Neutral wasn't fused and the Live goes straight to the timer and transformer. I don't like it, but it's a sma...
