Re: Electroplating (chrome, nickel etc.)

Having followed various techniques and methods and inventions since mid-80s (various car magazines had articles on said subject, Chroming!) even after 35 years no one (not even 3M) have managed to invent a simple spray for domestic users to achieve true chrome finishes, trust me, I've tried every ho...

Re: Jennings Governor

It's an inhibitor for the payouts. A small catch that can stop all the vertical pay levers from moving forward through the holes in the pay discs (those on the side of the reel bundle). It features on Jennings, Mills, Sega + and comes in to operation if a token is played (as you don't want it paying...

Re: Elephant House Auctions

I'm sure you won't see EH doing the usual auctions again, why go to all this long term bother of a website and on line bid path, if he was going to continue with regular auctions? With no mention whatsoever from Steve regarding "getting back to normal auction days!" I doubt we'll see them ...

Re: Elephant House Auctions

I take my hat off to Steve and Elephant House for trying re-establish the auction business albeit virtual, but nothing can replace the thrill of the day at an auction. I don't fully understand why he has built an elaborate website and "sealed" bids that has no benefit to buyer or seller th...

Re: Media blast set up for home use

Just remember to get a large compressor otherwise you won't get the power to blast anything. I use a 200Litre tank with 145psi. Along with a big compressor you need good water /damp traps in the pipe line otherwise the gun will constantly clog up with lumps of media. As mentioned elsewhere, its a me...

Re: Mills coin tube detecting lever assembly How does it work?

The detecting lever mech was an interesting concept by Mills, removed in later models as it caused more problems with coin tubes running out of coins! The idea for this check lever was to ensure the jackpot was filled as quickly as possible once paid out. Although Mills had the reserve jackpot, this...

Re: Is it Classed as Trade Stimulator? Info Please!

Thank you for the info. Just trying to collect as much detail about it as possible. Looks complete and original. Not sure if it's worth cleaning or leaving as it is?

Is it Classed as Trade Stimulator? Info Please!

What is it? Can anyone help with a recent machine I picked up. I'm putting this message out there in the hope of gaining more info about this old device. Very heavy probably cast iron, all complete. Has the top banner but broken off cleanly. I dropped a coin in and it played and paid a token on the ...

Cleaning Inside Tick Tock or Hidden Treasure

Anyone here ever managed to clean behind the glass or more to the point, get the handle off the front of these Bryans machines? Surely Bryans wouldn't expect operators back in the day having to strip half the mech just to clean the dust or flies that end up below the swinging pendulums, or am I wrong?

Re: Caille 4 reeler

From what I remember the 1st reel is spun by friction, usually provided by the 1st regular reel. The amount of friction was controlled by shim washers. They were a pain to get the correct pressure. The "blue" 1st reel never spins as fast as the other 3 reels as it is not kicked by the kick...

Re: Elephant House Auctions

Unfortunately, Coventry have closed their doors to any more submissions.. so anyone who wants to sell those machines that don't sell at EH will be out of luck! Not sure why Coventry didn't leave entries open till Tuesday after EH, just in case any late entries are submitted!

Re: Elephant House Auctions

I think the reason Steve does so well is he is totally tuned in to modern marketing techniques. His website gets updated regularly (especially the closer to auction day..sometimes adding stuff the night before!!!), he pushes messages thru Twitter and Facebook, has the YouTube channel. In this day an...

Strange as it seems, I've had 2 Bryans in the past with this spike on. I ended up removing them! Still can't figure out why they were there????

Re: This ain't no Bryan's...

Your former statement is more than likely....Silly Prices!
Most of the Allwins on eBay have been there for weeks if not months... Prices are way too high! A few years ago when an Allwin got listed on eBay it was gone within a day.
Just like Slots, prices go up and down over the years.

I contacted these guys to enquire. The machine in the photo was not for sale. He had bits for a liberty machine... not even any parts for a Jennings. I think he used the picture to capture attention! Waste of time!

Even easier to zoom in to anything on screen by holding the Control key down (Ctrl, bottom left of keyboard) as you scroll the small wheel on your mouse!
