Re: Allwin Skill
Because they could. It's the same as the Bryans device, just a sales gimmick. I don't believe there was a need for it. What he said. For the rhythm method to work, it would be necessary for each reel to turn by the exact same distance each and every time. If it could be stated that reel 1 turned fo...

Re: Allwin Skill
Not so. As I've said before, a game can be designed so that a skilful player can increase their odds. This is true of many modern fruit machines which reward strategic play . Can't say I agree with this statement contained on the website on the link you gave...... You have to give the slot game at ...

Re: Allwin Skill
I think Mr Bryan built his business and made his fortune from people who thought an Allwin was a game of skill.......I have also known people (and I'm sure this is going to ring a bell) who used to claim that pulling down the handle on a mechanical one-armed-bandit VERY VERY SLOWLY and then giving i...

Someone with an Olly Whales will be able to give you a definitive answer, but until they emerge from their stinking pit, I can tell you that the glass on a Ruffler and Walker allwin simply slides in and out from the top. If this is the case with yours - and I imagine it is - then you will be able to...

They aren't difficult to fault-trace if you have a multimeter. Could you not have a go yourself? I'm not familiar with this particular machine but many faults on EM machines are caused by burnt-out windings and can usually be cured by swapping coils around, and then rewinding the least important one...

OK, just a brief update........ I had a new coinbox lock fitted as the locksmith couldn't match the key. He charged me £10.87 including fitting. I decided I couldn't live with the Ronseal finish, so I stripped it off and rubbed down the cabinet very lightly, before applying two thin coats of clear v...

The Arcade
I can't get the Conveyer in the arcade to work. I can get the hand to turn the knob, but I can't get the thing to start. I gather I'm supposed to pick a coin up from the bowl with the £££ sign on? This doesn't seem to happen.

Thanks - I have removed the interior shield and had a look at the back of the coinbox lock. I will pop to the locksmith tomorrow and see if he can sort me out a key. I imagined that the button stop would be as you described, but on mine it is missing. I have now fabricated a wooden stop, and this is...

A couple of quick queries now I have had a chance to look over the Testo... Firstly, the machine came with one key, which opens the lock on the side of the cabinet. The cash box appears to require a different key, is that right? The main key will however turn the cashbox lock by one-quarter of a tur...

The Evils of Gambling, part 1
The Evils of Gambling, part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr2JflE8CCc It's a shame the video is of such poor quality as there look to be some interesting machines here. The focus of the video is a Bryan's Fruit Bowl, on the left if it is (I think) a Retreeva. It seems to have been filmed in Grea...

Online snipers are your friend... http://snip.pl/en/ does it for me.
Can't find anything on the internet myself- this thread seems to be No 1 now if you search Google for information on Testos.
And welcome in!

Nostalgic Machines Allwins
Topic merged - Site Admin. I have never seen one of these in the flesh, but have always been curious about them. Do they work in the same way as a traditional allwin (Bryan's, Whales, R & W etc.)? I think I would buy one if I had a pub or some-such because I could see them returning a profit at...
