Hi,
Busy restoring my Pace Comet, could anyone tell me:

1. Can I use real coins instead of the 25c tokens?
2. If not, does anyone have for sale any of the 25c tokens?
3. Which other coins are similar size ?
4. What was the money value of the 25 tokens back then?

Picked the lock and got front panel off today. No mint magazines inside but should be able to make my own.
Local key cutting shop has made a key for it.
Anyone got any spares for this machine? Jackpot filling mech is missing so I will need one or can always fill the jackpots manually for now.

Locksmith might be too expensive! I will have another go myself. Is it the sort of key you find on a garage door with parallel sides and slots or "stepped" like a Yale lock?

I cant get the front panel off yet as no key,tried all sorts of ways picking the lock etc but no luck,any other way to get the front off ? I love the Pace machine too,very ornate !! I guess i need to know for sure what mech it is.Anyone got any more info ? The reels certainly dont match the payout card and all the other i have seen have white background to the reels. The jackpot windows cant just be for show as they have mechs behind them.Just wondering in general what releases...

Oh Dear really? Does that also mean it won't operate the jackpot windows or can I adapt?

Paid 500 for it,seemed like a good price ? Does anyone know how it would of dispensed the mints and what triggers the jackpot windows ?

Hi,Yes it was removed from ebay,i managed to buy it though and had a carrier collect.Lovely looking machine and like you said the vending knob has been removed but will go back on during resto.
Anyone got any more info or parts for this machine ??

Thanks for the info. I have cleaned the slides etc. and springs all good. It makes a hell of a clank when the payout fingers hit the discs at end of the cycle. The fingers also drag the discs every now and then and don't let the reels spins properly? Tried a shim on the arm that is supposed to hold ...

Thanks for the info. Was it this actual one you restored a few years ago, or just one in general? Any markings etc. you may have left inside?
Can't work out the payouts. It only seems to pay out on 2 cherries or 3 oranges and very rarely 3 bars.
