Mills not cranking properly
My Mills has started to stick and won't return when being cranked up, is there any adjustments I do carry out to stop this from happening.

Re: Mills Hi Top working on R+W tokens
The payout slides are definitely for the token and not the sixpence, the tokens fit perfectly in the slides. Would the slides have originally been made for an American coinage? and the tokens made to measure at a later date? I'm having to take apart every part and clean, progress is slow, but you kn...

Bernie Berten Co., USA - fantastic prices and delivery
Ordered some upper and lower Finger springs and Payout springs for my Mills Hi Top, and some for my Watling Gold seal. Ordered them with Dave Berten on Wednesday lunchtime, they were delivered on Friday same week! That has to be some kind of record for delivery! Correct sizes and tension springs - c...

Re: Mills Hi Top working on R+W tokens
Thanks Paul for the info, if the slides are for the 6d, then I think I will use that coinage instead of the R+W tokens. Is the sequence for the upper fingers from right to left - 1- cherry, 2- orange, 3 - plumb, 4 - bell, 5 - melon, 6 - bar and 7 and 8 the mystery payout. Also I've noticed that a br...

Mills Hi Top working on R+W tokens
Just acquired my next project, a Mills Hi Top working on R+W tokens. Just a few questions before I start taking it apart Was the R+W token a replacement for the old sixpence as the diameter looks to be the same? Was it to do with the gambling laws at that time that the coinage was changed for tokens...

Thanks for the reply. Yes, Paul it's all 3 reels. I'm sure it just needs a slight adjustment.

Reels spinning slowly at times
The machine in question is a Mills Romanhead The reels spin correctly, but on the odd time, the reels hardly move when the dagger arm is pulled. Could this be caused by the kicker not making contact with the reels correctly, and if so, why only the odd time? I would say this happens about 1 in every...

Re: Jennings Peacock help
Silly question, but what was the idea of a gold award, as the coin wasn't gold and didn't have any value? . I ask this because I have a Watling machine with a gold award.

Mill Hi Top handle
I've noticed lately that the handle to my Mills Hi Top has begun to stick and doesn't return on its own. It doesn't happen every time, but I have noticed on the inside of the cabinet, the handle internal mechanism has started to rub on the inside - see picture. Is this normal and can it be adjusted ...

Can anyone recommend a courier for moving a Jennings bandit about 300 miles. Just don't like the thought of the machine being dropped off the van.

Re: What is the ideal humidity environment for slot machines
An update on my last post I should have explained, the reason I'm keeping my machine outside, is that Ive reached the limit of 2 machine's inside the house before the war office starts ranting !!RANT!! In the summer, I lined the garage walls, and took off the up and over door. I replaced it with a s...

What is the ideal humidity environment for slot machines
Hi With Winter just around the corner bringing with it colder and darker nights, is there an ideal humidity for keeping slot machines in. I have some of my machines now outside in an unheated garage. As high humidity and damp will cause damage, I was just wondering as a rule of thumb what the ideal ...

Re: Prince August casting for Wonders coin slot
The Prince August, being a softer metal had a lower melting point, ideal for when you're having to melt it down on the cooker in the kitchen. A sound tip is try to do the casting when the wife isn't about, and don't use one of her best saucepans. .
