Re: It's happening again
Thanks for the replies. I was not aware you would be charged a final fee if an item was removed. It’s been a while since I last sold anything on fleabay! (Better name for it...) I have had a few bad experiences buying things on fleabay so avoid it now. Used to love it, but now would rather buy from ...

Re: It's happening again
I thought you could remove an item if you listed it wrong? No charge. So like you are saying if you list an item for £1,000 instead of £100 and remove your add for a mistake with your listing, you will get charged a sale on the £1,000? Don’t sound right to me.

Re: Mills high top - Fremont
Nice looking machine you have. In Vegas many hotels and casinos had their names on machines. Some had their names on the jackpot symbols on the reel bands also. It’s quite possible this machine came from the Fremont hotel, but as it’s a basic high top I would guess not. Just my opinion. However, if ...

Re: It's happening again
Items on eBay are sometimes removed by the sellers not just eBay. When something nice comes along, sellers are bombarded with messages from collectors/dealers saying I will pay you x amount for your pretty machine and I only live just up the road from you etc etc..... Anyone smart on eBay should rea...

Re: Person to service Caille mech 1934 Dictator
Would you mind posting a few pictures of the top of your reel kicker please? Mine doesn’t look right and flops on the reel plates after kicking reels. I have a silent Sphinx. Thanks.

Could you not make a right angle piece and bolt it to the broken reel stop? Might work?

Re: Lost Hi Tops
It appears that more people are looking for slot machines which is driving up the prices. Plus the lack of auctions of late, meaning fewer opportunities for people to acquire them. This years Coventry auction could see a good selection of bandits for sale, well I hope so.....especially as the EH see...

Just reading this post. Did the seller mention how bad the word worm was on the listing? Good luck with your resto.

Mills castle front
Having a look on the web earlier and found this unusual Mills castle front. Never seen one before with that lower front casting on it. The listing stated only 3 known to exist. Has the deferred payout mech attached also. Sold I believe.

Re: Caille Centre pull Victory Bell in Aberdeen??
Funny you should mention that tf. I was offered that machine also for a grand. I was interested, but after studying the original pictures they posted I declined. There was a chip out of the casting on the front right hand side, not easy to see but big enough for me to decline their offer. Would rath...

Re: Can anyone identify the Mexican bandits?
First machine I guess is a mills operator bell, the next row of machines I was thinking pace. Looking in the book entitled “slot machines” by Marshall fey, on page 113 is a picture of a pace “master bell” model and on page 134 a pace “operators bell”. Both similar looking to those in your picture.

Re: Caille Centre pull Victory Bell in Aberdeen??
I see this on eBay earlier. I messaged the seller in the hope of a viewing as I live close. They said they would just let the auction run its course. Then it disappeared. I guess it was reported as usual. At least these machines ARE out there. It’s all about finding them.

Re: Auctions or lack of....
There has been a lot of positive replies on this thread. An annual gathering sounds like a great idea if enough enthusiasts can get together and work something out. I would like to see other amusement machines on show, which would appeal to a wider audience. And what about the gaming laws, would thi...

Do they still have a jukebox fair down South everyear? I am sure some vendors had slots on show. More like a rock n roll memorabilia event. I never attended but remember reading about the show somewhere.

Re: Auctions or lack of....
Of course I wish Steve’s mum Gloria a speedy recovery and good health always. The Canterbury auction was too far for me with interest in only 1 item. I know Coventry had 2 auctions one year. I guess that won’t happen again any time soon....
