Re: Reels Don't Always Spin Fast! Need Help Again!!!
The pawl on the right hand side is a good suggestion as its fine tuning is critical to the general smooth operation, however if it's out or loose then I'd also expect oodles of other horrors. I think by now, if everything is checked and appears ok then I'd be coming at this from a different directio...

Re: Reels Don't Always Spin Fast! Need Help Again!!!
An excellent photo and explanation from Badpenny by the way! Can I just add: The reason for the apparent randomness of the spin times is because Sega machines were sometimes fitted with a "randomiser". This consists of an offset cam having several flats around it, which rotates slightly o...

Re: Reels Don't Always Spin Fast! Need Help Again!!!
I suggest that the reels aren't always staying in line when the kicker travels under them to get to the back. They are kept in place by the arrowed piece in the photo. If the spring on it isn't strong enough to keep the reels in line then what you describe can happen.

Thanks Andy, you're a good 'un as that must have taken you ages and a lot of tracing paper! When I next see nursey I'll ask her to suggest to Mr Penny Machines that he moves your post to the resources part of his empire. She's due to rub down his swellings about mid day'ish. I tried to move it mysel...

The vendor is a very respected member of the slottie community as is his dad. I currently have two machines in my collection from him that I plan to keep. A safe pair of hands to buy from is my opinion.

Re: Aristocrat Starlite
The cabinets are pretty well the most plain of any bandit. The mechs are the same as Arcadians except most of the ones I've seen/had had playing cards as symbols same as the Clubmaster (in my view the most desirable of Aristocrats and worth between £300-£400) Although I've never been too sure of the...

Re: Jennings Govenor
In my opinion you're paying for quality, I've had several over the years and have not experienced the jams and jackpot failures that Mills and others often display. If I were an operator in the middle 20th century I'd have wanted the reels spinning and not staff fiddling with sulking machines. I cur...
