But not too much Humanoid, as the toe may then hit the coin chute and then not have enough arcing movement to release the ball.

Re: 'Five Jacks' information please

The use of an italic sans-serif typeface for 'Five Jacks' does not seem right for the perceived age of the machine. This kind of type face (Impact or similar) was very popular in the 1960s when I was studying graphic design at college. We were all using it to over-kill. It was also popular back then...

Re: Snakes alive!

Ah Mr Peterson Sir, good to hear from you again. Interesting how things come full circle. When I was a child snakes and ladders was an innocent game, when I was a teenager a snake was your best mate who created a ladder in your girlfriend's stockings, as an adult a snake can become a venomous and tr...

Re: Elephant House Auctions

Bryans machines nearly always command higher prices, they have the following and people are prepared to pay. These machines are very late models and it wouldn't surprise me if they were made especially for a collector, perhaps by Jim Bryan, maybe during the late 1970s or even 1980s but for use with ...

Re: Art deco slot machine found, seeking advice on value

You have a Mills Extraordinary slot machine circa 1933 There is a picture of a Mills 'Century Vendor' on page 66 of Nic Costas Automatic Pleasures that looks very very similar to jhughe32's machine, there is also a Mills Extraordinary on page 70 in a 'hideaway' cabinet. The Century Vendor looks muc...

Hi hankat1, I notice that your instruction card has all but faded away, if you are just refurbing your machine to a standard allwin and not reserve then this instruction card may be of use. It is from a machine very similar to yours - previously converted from a reserve to a standard allwin and I th...

Oh well BP, your still quite lucid - most of the time - so I guess the alzheimer fairy hasn't got to you yet. When you have been used to an active work life, to be out of work, especially in the 'later' stages of employment maturity is enough to rattle anyone's system. :dammit: Just tell Sally the t...
