Allwin Identity
Anyone recognise the below allwin? I haven't seen in the flesh, so poor picture. It sort of looks home-made with a crude flicker and I am wondering if it is just for looks as the coin cup again looks crude. A nice case though.

Classic Buckley
Topic merged - Site Admin. Another ebay sale but, although perhaps not the most sought after of machines, there is something really stylish about this Buckley 1D machine. It looks fairly original and in good condition and the top flash is great, with a nice bottom lit up light and great simple text...

Mad Melons
One of my favourite machines for sale, although a grosvenor version, rather than the Kingsway I have, which personally I prefer.....this one I reckon will run as not that many around.....

Re: Not only machines .... Coins as well!
Problem is prices have actually fallen for silver from it's peak. It was close to $50 at one point and is now more than a third below this.....It's all about perceived economic stability, during and after the banking crisis people sought stability, then there was high oil prices and then the Euro cr...

Re: Reproduction on not?
No one will guarantee this here I suspect, but I have a repro Eagle so have some idea what to look for. Also would be helpful to see a picture of the inside without the mechanism in. The case look original half top case. The escalator is a roll down, all the teeth have been snipped. The mechanism is...

Re: Newbie questions
I think I had seen the same machine at another auction and avoided looking at the electric, but could have been another I guess... There was a string of bandits that sold at Gerrards in St Anns yesterday, including below....The Hi Top made £380 excluding commission which seemed high, but the bargain...

Here is another slot almost certainly illegally using the Olympic name and rings. I believe there are only a small handful of companies allowed to use the Olympic name, eg the airline. Supposed to be one of the most protected names and symbols....

Re: Ruffler & Walker Allwin Payout Knob - Anyone found simil
Wasn't this one that finished on ebay the other day, decided not to bid on this as there was no handle....also the other types of these machines have hinges and this machine appears to lack them, but if the lock is on the left the hinges should be on the right, unless I am missing something

Re: Bryans Elevenses
Yes very good, it makes you appreciate how clever, but simple these designs are and of course the capability of Mr Bryans.....some of the more complex models like Bullions and Hidden Treasures would be even more incredible to try and understand the actions.. I like the period start, excellent

Re: Newbie questions
You are right, this Nevada has the wrong reels, maybe the whole mechanism or just the reels, but they are from an Aristocrat Kingsway Gold Medal. Only recently bought one.... The Nevada would have metal tins as they were earlier machines, whereas most later Kingsways were an awful brittle plastic. I...

Re: Art deco slot machine found, seeking advice on value
The mechanism I don't think is Mills and would need to check some of my pictures to confirm, but this is a 10 stop mech maybe from a another machine like a jennings or pace. You can see it also does not sit proud in the back or in the window at the front. A hole has been drilled into to right of the...

Re: Newbie questions
OK, my two cents worth... I also have a machine from the Rochdale Automatics company, a Hi Top, which was a slot machine company obviously selling and possibly renting machines many years ago. Some of these companies would put their own name plates on, as part of advertising their machines. They too...

Reel Strips
Well I seem to have got a bargain for once and a great find for those with Sega machines. Bought a job lot of bandit reel strips, which arrived today and there are 21 full sets, with around 12 spare odd's. Most are in reasonable condition (obviously not new, so have an age patina for 40 years of use...

I finally have bought a copy of Arcades and Slots by Paul Braithwiate and now know why so many of you know what you're talking about. What a great little guide.... I have no idea if he is still around or into the subject any more, but given this book is now 15 years old, I wonder if anyone has consi...

Re: Newbie questions
As BP says, I know the seller, good guy and am sure he will do what you want, obviously customised on request as they are obviously restored items. The melon version, is a lot rarer than the Gold Star, although the Gold Star seems more desirable and has a jackpot. I need to get the name of his chrom...

Re: Newbie questions
The other one of course is the Regal, most of these were with the rotary escalator, until botched of course. I can only assume they were unrelliable as so many were converted and the front casings on all three types drilled for an award plate. The Regal has the large award box on top, but otherwise ...

Re: Beromat arm
I believe they are held on by one of those annoying little spring pins, that are all over Beromat mechanisms and a bugger to remove. They seize after a long period and I have used dowels of the right size to bang them out (I have used old drill bits, although brittle), but it may need heat, which ma...

Re: New guy who knows not a lot about slot machines!
The great thing about these machines is that they are flat metal, so if you are stripping all the way down and stripping the paint, you can choose whatever you want. Common original colours are two tone blue and red, but pick what you fancy. Below are two I restored after a complete strip down. It i...
