Re: Alfred Clement - Treble Pools
Do you know if these were Brenner mechanisms? I think all the mechanisms (including the one in the squat, reboxed game above) were made by J&M in Germany. What do you mean by "a non-Domino mechanism"? There was a fair bit of design variation in the mechanisms over the years. I think B...

Re: Alfred Clement - Treble Pools
As far as I know, all the mechanisms for these were originally made in Leipzig, Germany by Jentzsch & Meerz for Domino or Lucky Dice games (as Coin-op stated). There are many different conversions, most retaining the original door, cabinet and fittings. The example above has a later cabinet. The...

Re: The Oliver Whales Story
I'd like to add my voice to the chorus in thanking you for your excellent article, Stuart. Evidently, you put a great deal of research work into it. It was always something of an embarrassment that virtually nothing was known about the most prolific maker of the most popular British amusement machin...

Re: Have you heard of an allwin called Double Your Win?
The oak case and overhanging base and top mark it out as an early example. Shefras cases went through a few changes over the years ranging from the early style above (see also Beat the Clock ); to overhanging base with flush top; to all-ply cases. Similar games in different guises suggests extended ...

Now I'm 78% confused which is better than average for me :???: Some, but not necessarily all, of the following features will be found on a Shefras allwin: Non-oak case - a lighter wood with hardly any grain pattern (beech?); Non-plastic backflash - card printed flash surmounted by clear plastic with...

Re: Have you heard of an allwin called Double Your Win?
You can never be 100% sure, but I would say it was one of Oliver Whales re-manufactured machines Well, as I said, I'm 90% sure it's a Shefras product, having done some research recently into their output (to be submitted to MMM when I get around to it). The example below is atypical because it lack...

Re: Have you heard of an allwin called Double Your Win?
Hi Scottie,
I believe the Double Your Win was made by Morris Shefras's company, the Amusement Machine Mart sometime in the late 1950s. I've seen a few and owned one, but never figured out how you double your win. Is there a feature on yours which allows the player to achieve this?

I've seen pic's of one in a book, but never actually seen a machine with the Peters name casting on it. Nor have I. Thanks to that excellent little Shire Album publication, Automatic Vending Machines by Colin Emmins we have some great pictures of once common but now very rare machines, including th...

Re: I need balls!
Hey Rivierakid,
The balls I supply are all new and shiny but, if you let me know the dimensions, I may have some old wrinkly ones in my pocket somewhere.
I do have some used/worn/dull ones which you can have for price of postage if they're suitable.

For one more preposterous stunt?
When no Bumper was found,
And the bailiffs came round,
His name and our cash took the brunt.
Sorry, that was a bit mean-spirited. The 'rhyme with Hunt' challenge led me astray. I wish him success with his new enterprise.
