Re: Sega Windsor slot
Sega Windsor now fixed ! As I was not able to ascertain the correct solenoid I made my own  The original solenoid coil had gone short circuit due to overheating and measured just 0.4 ohms, to find out the correct resistance I carefully unwound the coil, which was 77 metres in length. I then me...

Re: Early Eversheds & Vignoles resistance tester
Yes! this is for testing electrical leakage currents between two conductors.
500v is still used today for this purpose.
In simple English, it tests the insulation between two cables. JC is correct, it is not a resistance meter.

Good god, All I can taste now is metal, it certainly cleans your tongue up
As I have said previously, my solenoid is no more, it has ceased to be, all I need is someone to help me find a replacement or give me the part number that is written on the coil sleeve.

Re: Sega Windsor slot
Oh yes, I think 'capacitive coupling' rather than 'resistive short' would be my explanation.

Re: Sega Windsor slot
This is all very interesting :cool:my solenoid cable is knowhere near the lighting cable, I have had problems with noise being induced on my hi fi when cables are run together but would have thought that there would not be enough current induced to operate a coil, even slightly, but hey , I have bee...

Re: Sega Windsor slot
I know the power supply rail is 30v ac but the supply to this particular solenoid is dropped across a 10watt resistor, so the voltage is much lower to operate the said coil. I can't understand the reason the manufacturer did this ,maybe they had some low voltage solenoids they needed to use up ? !PU...

If someone out there has one of these machines I would be grateful if they could tell me the part number of the coil, usually printed on its sleeve.

Re: Sega Windsor slot
I did many checks and I know the fault is the coil being short circuit, it has overheated at some time, not helped by the ciggy paper wrapped around the 2 amp fuse
Clearly the coil had been causing the fuse to blow as it grounds the supply voltage as soon as it is connected.

Hi, I have a problem with this machine in that the main operating lever solenoid has failed, does anyone know where I can obtain one of these coils ? I have tried using a standard 24v coil but this does not work. I think the original is a low voltage type.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Diodes?
Your diodes will be rated at 300v, what current rating is another question. If you have a circuit diagram you should be able to work it out. 300v 1 Amp is a common diode and I use them regularly. What is the board out of ?

Sega arm buffer rubber replacement
Hi, trying to obtain a replacement rubber end stop that acts like a buffer when the arm is pulled on a sega machine. What do people use to replace this when they disintegrate.
It is about an inch square and 1/4 inch thick.

Re: If you're using Hammerite ...
About 40 years ago I had a Mini Cooper, the paintwork had faded badly and I decided to paint the car with Hammerite, yes the whole car in blue Hammerite.... With a brush. I was quite proud of the result until I took it in for its MOT and this old mechanic could not believe what he was seeing, he cal...

This allwin never worked when I bought it. I think someone had put the ball release back incorrectly.
I thought someone may have posted a picture of the correct position.

Spangles allwin coin drop / ball release information
Hi everyone, I am trying to refit this ball release but cannot get it to work. Can someone tell me which way 'round the parts should fit? The ball release/holder can be fitted 2 different ways, A and B can be assembled 180 degrees to each other. ALSO, what is the function of the sliding mechanism, p...
