Re: Haydon & Urry Tivoli

I have seen a slightly different Tivoli to this one with 'D Harper & Co, Holloway, London' printed on the top pedement. The main difference between Hottoddy's Tivoli and the Holloway, is that the payout tray for the cigar token is set below the return penny chutes and that there is a third payou...

Re: Scrap metal allwin and other projects

Hi jonathans257, yes Corteen were very well made machines, these sweety allwins can be adjusted to either return the ball for free play or retain the ball ready for next penny inserted, the penny was always retained and dropped straight into the money box below - you can just see the vertical chute ...

Re: Line Fifteen Allwin

Interesting machine Greg - any pics of the mechanism we can look at? Does it have 'Whales Redcar' printed anywhere on the backflash?

This is very similar to the 'Pot Luck' allwin - only it's had the two lower galleries angled up to meet the straight gallery.

Re: Scrap metal allwin and other projects

wonderfully simple mechanism that converts one horizontal movement into another but changes it through 90 degrees without using any gears Ruffler & Walker (Corteen) used the same 90 degree slide method in their sweety allwins to deliver a choc bar, the mech in the photo has been 'sleeved' for t...

Re: Single machine Permit, this what it looks like

See exactly where you are coming from coppinpr and understand why you have got the permit, but if these permits are applied for and issued on a regular basis I think it will harm our arguement for amending the law.

Re: Supplier of period glass?

Also the cheapest bit was the very centre where the pole had been attached for spinning it, that was the bull's eye used in old windows And if you want to buy a new piece of bullseye glass now, it is quite expensive. Interesting how things change, in the Victorian days tatty old 'down market' shops...

I certainly agree that requiring a Section 27 Certificate seems rather cumbersome and unnecessary, for as you rightly point out, these machines are hardly for use in video arcades or ...

Re: Payramid - Original or Later Version? Your View Please!

Hi Mark, the jackpot chute should rotate easily, the spring is of average tension, enough to resist at least one coin tipping the chute and hence divert it into the jackpot window, but not so strong as it will not allow the tray to rotate when a few coins are on it, thus tipping the coins into the c...

Scottie, they are very common on the Saxony Allwin machines, which may give a clue as to your machines origin - see pic below of Saxon Allwin mech - originally a reserve ball machine.
