Re: Gumball machines?

Vertical? It's vertical in my browser :o

Unfortunately, my 15 year old is perpetually skint, so a pile of 20p pieces is required beside the machine !PUZZLED!

Just thinking maybe the next sweet will be peanut M&Ms...

Re: Gumball machines?

Paul is now a man of leisure having retired. He spends his time touring the world and then awaiting opportunities to mail on here. His advice has always been good, and now is usually sprinkled with comments such as. Last week as I was traveling over The Alps ........ Next month when I've returned f...

Re: Gumball machines?

OK, thanks for the info... I'd been looking at the Beaver brand machines, as they seem to have a decent reputation for quality build. I'd be vending either gumballs or something like M&Ms, Skittles etc. So if I can find a Beaver brand gumball machine in a similar shape to the one above, i'd be h...

Gumball machines?

I know this probably isn't a thing for this forum but i'm looking for a vintage 'look' gumball/candy dispenser.
Apart from the usual ebay/Amazon route, does anyone know a decent retailer for good quality machines?

Plenty in the US but shipping is prohibitive.

What was the quote?
I noticed on Henry Powell's site, they do a 'swap' for £35.

Re: bug

Aah, so it's really just a strategically-placed weight?

Presumably if placed under a BAR symbol, so it ended up closer to the underside?

Where to find a nice example?

So i'm on the hunt for a second mechanical slot... Was thinking a Mini-Maxi as I have fond memories chucking loads of 2p coins into them whilst on holiday in Northern Ireland (Barry's amusements). Contacted Henry Powell, where I bought my first machine, for an example with excellent chrome and - whi...

Re: Recommend me a book...

Received a lovely new hardback copy of "Lemons, cherries and bell-fruit-gum", all the way from the USA. Very nice book with lots of content and excellent photos / old adverts, flyers, etc.

This one will keep me busy for a while :)

Daft question... But have the reel strips been replaced over time?

And are the strips matching all the payout slot cutouts?

Take lots of photos from all angles so you can see where things were originally.

I just bought my 1st machine recently but have had lots of help and advice from the members - Hope you get to the bottom of the issues.
