That was going to be the next step to get rid of the old grease.
Also on the look out for a good second hand service manual for the Governor before I start to service it.

Hi Tom, thanks for the reply and advice. The nut is ok, I adjusted the screw and nut and moved the spring slightly see picture, I assume this is something to do with the brake. The problem seems to be sorted. Ive never had to adjust anything on the clock before, usually adjustment screws or nuts are...
