Re: Been away for so long - what's been going on in slot world?

Thank you all for your kind replies, really appreciate it. As soon as this heat drops down I shall be heading the house eaves to retrieve another bandit to go downstairs. Just got 5 shillings worth of old uncirculated pennies still in a bank bag turn up from an ebay charity seller for a bargain £3.0...

Re: Been away for so long - what's been going on in slot world?

Thank you my friend, yes it was a rough patch, but hopefully I can take on any hiccups now with a breeze. First thing I did today was buy a big bag of uncirculated shiny old pennies off ebay as my wife has said I can install another 1D one arm bandit downstairs in the house. I can feel all the excit...

Been away for so long - what's been going on in slot world?

I've been away from here for sometime. I really don't know why, other than life passing me by, 2 lots of Covid, one bout of long Covid, one cancer scare and being diagnosed with a chronic pain issue that I've had for a year and will not get better, thanks to Covid. I worked as key worker all through...

Re: Brenco Wheel of Fortune challenge 1965 - kid vs machine

Well in the '70s the Wheel of Fortune in Harrisons Amusements on Bognor Regis seafront had an error whereby whenever the needle went on Lose, it would always, every time go on to 6p. As the arrow was constantly in rotation, regardless if you played it or not, I would just sit and wait discretely for...

Re: Aristocrat 'Golden Dragon' how old?

Crikey, have I really been on here 10 years, where did that decade go? Well hunting on the internet for Aristocrat Olympic and what comes up on first search is this old post I'm posting in here. For some reason and can't remember correctly, I think I swapped it with somebody on here for Sega hi top ...

Re: Sega Silver Victory?

Get some switch cleaner in readiness for the micro switches. I think from memory, there are two: one on the right side of mech that allows the anvil to engage so you can pull handle and spin reels, and one on the left for end of play. These switches work in unison; they also light up the insert coin...

Re: Aristocrat Jackpot Conversion

Well I learned something there. I've got a basket case Arcadian in storage that I still haven't gotten around to restoring. I never knew these had that type of jackpot tube.

Re: Sega Silver Victory?

I owned one of these, the Victory without the header box. It's a Sega Windsor and I paid 75 quid for it in a lot better condition than that. The thing I didn't like about it was it actually didn't depict the HMS Victory, but more of a Mary Rose, a tudor ship from the 1500s heading up the Thames wher...

Re: Revamped Beromat-type bandits

It's unlikely to, unless I shimmy my way under a bus and Sally decides to dispose of all my crap. I bought it shortly after the Brighton J'box fair. It had gone through a couple or two owners in rapid succession before I got it. It had major issues with the mech and refused to allow coins anywhere ...

Re: Aristocrat Arcadian - Manufactured Plate

Well thank you for your picture. This blows a hole in my theory that it could have been a date. From the four digit number on your manufactured field, maybe this indicates the actual amount of that specific machine manufactured, so in my case it was number 665. But maybe somebody else can chip in wi...

Re: Revamped Beromat-type bandits

No, it wasnt, mine was red. I bumped it on locally in Bognor Regis for 250 as wife was getting a bit fed up with my growing boy toys in the house. But, I did see one at a jukebox fair, god knows how long back, how long have I been on this forum? and it was green and yellow. I seem to remember talkin...

Re: Revamped Beromat-type bandits

I picked one of these up for 140 quid at a jukebox fair in Brighton once. Mine was in perfect working order, complete and was immaculate. If they look like that on the outside you can imagine what that pot metal will be like inside. I like them as they are a very compact size.

Aristocrat date from serial number?

Can anybody enlighten me as to what the manufactured date means on my Aristocrat Manufacturer Plate. It says 'Manufactured 665' now what does this mean. It was made in June 1965? It was made in May 1966? It was amount of the machine made, or made on a specific day? 665 was a manufacturing location? ...

Re: Roma Flotilla

Fabulous. I got mine out the other day from loft eave, the yellow one. The inner coin slide fell out when I opened it up as the rubber band holding the two halves together had perished. I think it was you who came to my house to examine mine. I seem to think we ended up using a rubber band on yours ...

Re: Anyone had tokens made for machines?

Wasn't it the case that some operators issued tokens from behind the bar and asked the player what value they wanted to play at then trade back winnings at the value staked? So play at 1d, 6d a shilling?!?!

I've just seen your photos and the slots under the coin to jackpot chute looks like it's already been modified? I suspect to allow 1p coin at some point in its life.

Re: Silver Jubilee - strange payout?

Nice find of 6p coins! As the owner of this exact machine (my first bandit i ever bought) I can tell you that your payouts are completely normal; the mystery payout are the combinations already stated. I also think orange melon bar also pays. The lemons, yep, to prevent a win as is the same with ma...

Re: Looking forward....

As a key worker I returned to work two weeks after lockdown, having been very ill two weeks before, with all the symptoms; of course they wouldn't test me, I had to isolate. Goodness, Malcymal. What a horrible experience. I cannot understand why your Doctor could not get you tested for the virus? Y...
