Re: Oliver Whales lock
Thanks guys. I should be able to machine one of these pretty easily once I figure out the tumblers in AutoCAD.

Re: Oliver Whales lock
Thanks! Does it have a little point at the end or is it flat there too?

Re: Help with Win a Crunch
Hopefully this doesn't make any of you cringe... This cabinet was so out of square and I'll say this; the maker of this machine was in no way a cabinet maker. The sides were different lengths, a groove was missing on one side to make the back line up nicely. The gap at the door was so wide, the lock...

Re: Flatten a plastic backflash
I removed the backflash as it was so warped and cleaned up the playfield an all of the parts. The backflash is much nicer with the layer of dirt removed. I may have to put a layer of plexiglass on it as Gameswat suggested.

Re: Oliver Whales lock
Does anyone have a key from an Oliver Whales lock? I'm just curious as to what it looks like. The locks are extremely simple with only two tumblers and the key acting like a cam. If I can find the lock I disassembled, I'll take a picture of it. My shop is a disaster....

Re: Win A Crunch
The Kit-Kats are too thick. I could cut the mechanism to make them fit, but the slide is too thin as well. Building a new one will be a fun task.
Side note: These are the balls that came in the machine. They have designs on them. Does this mean anything to anyone?

Re: Win A Crunch
Of course I had nearly the entire thing torn down within about 30 minutes of receiving it. It looks like I'm going to need to trim the backflash around the exit hole as it has shrunken, covering part of the hole. I may just take the playfield and create a new one from it, leaving the original backfl...

Re: Win A Crunch
Thanks for the response! That makes sense on the ball size. The ones in it are far too small and light. Amazon will have a new one to me in 48 hours. Is there a good way to smooth out the artwork? There is some warping. It's not horrible but would be nice to flatten. Is there normally anything behin...

Win A Crunch
Topic merged - Site Admin. I just received my first Allwin machine. A Win A Crunch. It's going to need a little bit of work to get performing correctly, but it seems like everything is in order. But I have some questions... Keep in mind, I'm a complete rookie here !PUZZLED! How many balls should be...

Re: Digger project
While I'm uploading videos, here's one of the reversing gears. The nice, brand new old stock gears, adjusted as perfectly as they could be with shim washers due to the bent cage that they're in. The middle gear has a new one way needle bearing pressed into it. The old one was slipping quite a bit an...

Re: Digger project
That is one great project we have been watching, started almost 5 years ago and fantastic outcome, well done !!THUMBSX2!! I had to do some digging to see when I actually bought the crane as eBay no longer keeps records before 2017. Turns out that I bought the digger in February 2014. So this does m...

Just curious. What's one of these machines typically go for? I have no frame of reference.

Re: Digger project
Finally done.
The kids have been playing it non stop. Of course they're using my quarters and not their own. I may carve a Marquee for it and add in some lights. It gets quite dark in there. Is it okay to have an attractive mode on a machine from the '60s?
