Re: AMCO Tank Buster identified

DD...This does not have anything to do with Tank Buster but I thought you might like to meet some of your Basketball games American Cousins. I believe ABCO Novelty Company, Chicago, Illinois, USA was the manufacture. They made versions for anyone who would buy enough to justify the production change...

Re: Chad's Balls

Thanks for the help Rebel. Normally when I get a new Allwin I replace the old rusty pitted ball with a new 1/2" one. I checked the size in the first machine I bought, which was a Bryan's, and it was 1/2". So, I figured they all used the same size. I just went back and checked the original ...

Chad's Balls

Topic merged - Site Admin. Hi..Everyone...I was wondering if anyone knows the correct size of Chad's balls and how many he should have? I recently bought a Chad Allwin on Ebay USA. It needed a good cleaning and tune up before it was playable. It has two balls instead of one and they were bigger the...

Re: "Win A Smarties" Allwin Glass Thickness

Thanks guys for the information on the glass thicknesses. It is always a chore for me to get the bottom glass out because I sandwich the top flash sign between two pieces of glass. It make me crazy when the plastic is all warped so I put a second piece of glass on the back side and use turn buttons ...

"Win A Smarties" Allwin Glass Thickness

Hi Everyone....I just won a "Win A Smarties" Allwin on Ebay and sometime during it's life both pieces of glass were replaced. Whoever did it cut them both too small and the glass also looks too thin. I can probably figure out the correct size of the glass but I was wondering if anyone knew...

Re: Bryans magic & other English machines on ebay.com

I was looking into the deal with Ebay and the Auction House and ran across this. Ebay asked me to sign in for the auction and then up popped my personal info that was to be sent to the Auction House if I clicked on "Sign UP". I didn't click. I did find the terms and conditions for the Auct...

English Machines on Ebay USA

Topic moved & merged - Site Admin. I have never run across this many English machines from one seller on Ebay USA . It is an auction house selling someone's collection. They would be expensive to ship but I am sure you could talk John P. into driving up there and packing them for you. Just go t...

Re: Easy Perm Backflash

After I heated it, I sat another sheet of glass on it and a heavy weight on top of that. After it cooled it went back to being bowed up.
Thanks Gameswat I will keep experimenting.

The gum and card vendor looks a lot like a Premier Vendor, only an older version.

Re: Easy Perm Backflash

I tried heating the backflash again, this time on high. I started by consuming 2 beers so I would be relaxed. Then I heated it for a little over 15 minutes. The glass it was sitting got so hot I couldn't touch it. I held the heat gun 6 to 8 inches away from the backflash. (I think that is 15 to 20 c...

Re: Easy Perm Backflash

Gameswat....I tried heating the backflash again. This time I heated it slowly for 10 minutes on low. It never collapsed and flattened. You know what they say... "If all else fails read the instructions." So that is what I did. Here is my “evil” heat gun information. On Low (which is what I...

Re: Easy Perm Backflash

Thanks for the information Gameswat. My backflash did that same rising up thing but I guess I didn't do it long enough because it never fully collapsed before I put it between two pieces of glass. Next time I will hold the evil heat gun a little further away and heat it slower and longer.

Re: Easy Perm Backflash

Day #1 with the evil heat gun!!! Because the backflash has so many spots that the plastic was turned under I started by trying to flatten it one corner at a time. I was planning on working my way to the middle. It went OK for 2 corners then I must have overheated the third corner. It looked fine hot...

Re: Easy Perm Backflash

Overnight the backflash warped even more. I guess it had been waiting for years to get free. I decided that I better not start heating it until I gave it a good cleaning. I started with window cleaner and worked my way to the stuff I tell my wife not to spray on painted walls because it will eat thr...

Re: Easy Perm Backflash

Because of the corrosion on the pins they would not pull out. What I had to do was.... #1 Squeeze the two flattened ends together with a small pair of pliers. #2 Snip the longest end of the pins off so they are both the same length. #3 Grip them again with small pliers but keep the pliers about 1/8 ...

Re: Easy Perm Backflash

Ok......#1 I took all the parts off the back. The plastic thing (does it have a name?) that covers the ball track is also warped. I can see where someone put a hot soldering iron to it to make one of the holes larger. (Slotalot, was that when you lost your soldiering iron?) Has anyone tried heating ...
