Re: pearl automatic vending machine date ?

I think you have done a great job. My Devonshire Milk is probably too far gone now so might just get motivated to have a go at restoring mine.
May need to come to you in the near future..

Re: pearl automatic vending machine date ?

I have a picture of one that seems to suggest late '20s, early '30s. It's in a row of machines at a railway station. To my knowledge they made three different types: Pearl Drops, Ambrosia Devon Milk and Clear Drops. I have a good original Pearl Drop and a poorer original Devon Milk. As you say, they...

Re: Beware the Elephant House Auctions

If it helps... I can physically pick the machine up the next time I am up that end of the world (about 2.5 hours from me) and you can then arrange to have it collected from me. I'm sorry but I don't have the knowledge to arrange the shipping for you.

Its an option..

Re: Cigarette vending machine info needed

Looks like a mighty fine job done there.. I did look at it myself a while back and decided I had too many projects and not enough skill to do it justice. Well done.

Don't know anything about the maker etc I'm afraid...

Re: Only saying ..........

I'm in the same boat as 'Special'. My knowledge is very limited. I have helped out a few times with vending related stuff.

I do however follow the forum a couple of times a day and enjoy sharing the knowledge of others. So please keep it up it's much appreciated.

Re: Elephant House Auctions

Having attended a few Elephant House Auctions I would only ever buy now if I had previously held the item in my hand.

I did once leave an absentee bid and then spent four weeks or more trying to get it refunded back when it wasn't even placed.

The idea of farming Ostriches does seem quite interesting. I'm all ears.

Re: BAC Medicine Vending Machine

I bought one off eBay a little while ago. Was surprised how small it was. Mine unfortunately doesn't have the script in the glass. Now trying to collect the small tins that would have originally gone inside to vend.

Re: 1940s Harper Cigarette Machine - HELP!

It all looks to be there and doesn't look to be in too bad shape. Has the screening on the glass below perished or is that just dust and grime. these are big old girls as you know and take up a lot of room therefore not everyone's cup of tea. I have a bit of a soft spot for the floor standing art de...

Re: 1940s Harper Cigarette Machine - HELP!

If it's in good original condition and you are in the market to sell I wouldn't jump at the first offer. Harper also made wall hanging machines and, as Neil said, they came in a variety of shapes and sizes. The almost unique thing about them was that the vending mech and coin mech were attached to t...

Nestle Animal Bars vend very nicely from this machine. I did wonder who outbid me.. "Wish you well to use it."

Re: Stolen machines

You are right it did hit a nerve and you are also right this is not the right place. But you are wrong when you say that the MAJORITY have had their confidence dwindled away. Confidence surveys completed by those who have no connection with the police do not support your argument. I also disagree ab...

Re: Stolen machines - British collection

I don't post very often on this forum but do check in everyday and enjoy the posts of others. My knowledge of all things slots is no match for some of you guys. Today I felt the need to respond to the last post in this thread. I have recently retired after spending 31 years in the Police. My career ...
