Re: FREE MACHINES ... FREE MACHINES ...FREE MACHINES ...

The sun is shining, outside it's 12degrees Centigrade (which is 4 miles 2 shillings & and an ounce in real money) I have a Harley aching to get back out on the road, and what do you think Mrs Badpenny wants to do? Yes.... you've guessed it Ruin-it-Yourself. I've been dragged down to GroanBase an...

How big is yours?

Traditionally slotties have been quite a secretive bunch. Wary about talking in detail about their collection, probably for security reasons or as a throw back from the "showman" days where you had to almost go through an initiation before being allowed to pass through to the inner sanctum...

Re: Cadburys Allwin

Hi, Can anyone please tell me the maker and approximate age of this allwin? I'm hoping to restore it to its former glory. Also what size chocolate bar would it have dispensed, the payout shoot looks a bit small to me. Many thanks I remember Cadbury's used to sell small bars of chocolate for 2d. tha...

Re: Bryans Fruit Clock

Does this mean you're not coming to see me anytime soon, Mr. BadPenny? Guess I better bring the machines inside again. After all, it's 23 degrees F below Zero here in Minnesota right now. Your weather is positively balmy compared to what we are enjoying here, the only difference is we've gone decim...

Re: How NOT to restore your machine

I'm glad to see they use the compost bin method for restoration as well, I was beginning to feel lonely. On more than one occasion I have left a machine with its showman's additions: - Post decimal hand written award card Chunks of hard wood pressed into the slots in the disks Blocks in the star whe...

Re: One Arm Bandit Withdrawl Symptoms - HELP

.........after 14 views of his cry for help, all Malcymal could hear was the brisk rustle of tumbleweed being blown down the street outside. "Dagnabit" he muttered to himself. Using his teeth he pulled the cork out of the dusty bottle of sippin' whiskey, holding it up to the light he gazed...

Yay, come on Jerry, you don't work hard enough on the auctions as it is.
Let's see you towing a dirty great box trailer as well, perhaps you could spin candy floss while you're at it.

Re: carters old stall

Yes Mr Badpenny did see this fantastic piece of history, unfortunately so did Mrs. Badpenny. Not withstanding the fact that I don't have a garden half the size of Staffordshire, unlike some collectors who then allow their pet moo cows to trample it all up. By the way ..... why do farmers always put ...

Re: Coventry 30/11/08 Auction

This country was swamped in these in the early 60's. They mainly came in from Germany in their original wooden cabinets and a lot of them were rehoused in the formica or steel ones that you see now. It was an attempt to modernise them and give them another chance. I have always liked the Ruffler &am...

Re: Coventry 30/11/08 Auction

Jerry is playing with the idea that one a year in Coventry is about right, unless somebody contacts one of us to dispose of a large collection.
