I've managed to cure the problem by removing the claw on ratchet mechanism and turning around in opposite direction.

I've had to alter spring mechanism, now it works perfectly.

I cannot see how the middle reel rotates in the opposite direction to outside ones. When the trigger is fired the reel axle bar only moves in one direction causing the outside reels to turn, with the spring in place on the middle reel this causes the claw to be engaged and not allow reel to turn. It was nearly going to be the 'Chicane', but decided on the more up market Daimler version.

'Double Six' badge is a vintage Daimler boot badge.
