Re: Firmans

Thank you coppinpr for your expertise, it is and has been much valued! I will put the brake stop adjustments on it and live with the fact it's only a 10 stop but should be a 20 stop for the reel strips it has on it!!.. I thought it was funny how it doesn't seem to get many winning lines and so doesn...

Re: Firmans

Aw, you might be right. I think the last owner sent me a picture on this thread... If it was, and unless he used a different mechanism, the picture shows a 10 stop. The trouble is the before picture shows broken wood at the front of cabinet. I am a little confused, so tomorrow will try do some mech ...

Re: Firmans

Thank you coppinpr... They should do the wheel stopping smoother instead of bouncy!! You are spot on in your last description and comment... All the best and we will keep in touch! Best wishes tammy.

Re: Firmans

Yes missing. Probably when someone took reels off they forgot to put them back on afterwards. I also seem to remember a long time ago I got a mixed up bandit that had them missing in my younger days!!

Re: Firmans

Thank you for sharing what you have. The machine reels stop fast and then bounce on to another fruit. I notice the three adjustable tensioners are all missing that slow the reels down... Is that what they do as I am not an expert like many on the site? Also if that's what they do has anyone a set of...

My new buy... Maybe made by Firmans?

Topic merged - Site Admin. Just bought this one arm bandit yesterday. Wasn't paying out very well... Found the screw that holds the payout finders was coming out... but now sorted. It seems a bit of a mixture, ie the bottom casting is Egyptian Bell type and the top casting a diffferent Mills type? ...

Re: Can anyone make complete vendors for sweet allwins?

No not in commercial use. Enjoyed when the grandkids come down and odd times at a number of fund raising charity like school events. Backflashes range from brilliant to good acceptable...still sad a lot of you are pulling the old off to replace with a paper copy. I know there is a time for this but ...

Re: Can anyone make complete vendors for sweet allwins?

I have found personally the very opposite over the years. I have had many Oliver Whales sweet allwins in distressed states... some even with no vendor as they have been robbed for parts. Have interchanged Fruit Gum vender to a Win a Gift even. I can only speak for what I have had and the dimensions ...

Re: Can anyone make complete vendors for sweet allwins?

I have a six-sider all different sweet Oliver Whales and all the vendors interchange easily except the Win a Chew where the pull bar has less travel and indeed the payout cup area is a little smaller. I bought a vender inside from one that advertises the new Neapolitan choc payout allwins. He sold m...

Re: Can anyone make complete vendors for sweet allwins?

Hi goodpenny!! It's only 4 small screws that hold the complete vendor part. I have switched odd ones over before from other variety sweets especially when doing an odd charity fund raising day in the past with the machines. As you will know yourself they are only made out of like tin and soldered (y...

Can anyone make complete vendors for sweet allwins?

Hi, I have a number of the Oliver Whales Win A Sweet type allwins but would love a complete vender I could install to vend the penguin chocolate biscuits instead. Looking at the Oliver Whales vendors surely someone could make a lot of money making and then selling the different up to date vendors fo...

Re: What colour to stain a new softwood case for a Rotofruit?

!!YIPPEE!!
Ps thanks to the member who suggested staining the bright white wood with ronseal £4 or £5 fence woodstain before varnishing case, as it looks same colour as original door frame and really looks the part now...who said you have to spend a fortune of money on penny machine restoration!!

Re: What colour to stain a new softwood case for a Rotofruit?

We have had another go at the ROTOFRUITmachine that my son and I are making from a selection of old bits etc. The cheap white wood case we made looks good with its new lock and key. The front flash is a new sheet printed out on a large printer (as we didnt have original grathics)and then a sheet of ...

Re: Opportunity of the decade coming

How did the sale go today please. Sadly for me at the first looks, for me being all vintage bandit parts was not worth me going as i havent any one arm bandits yet. Also to me the advertising seemed to be a little hard to find as i missed the fact of the later machines and bandits which would have m...

Re: Machines on 2p and 10p coin, and 20p coin?

WHERE THERES A WILL THERES AWAY! I personaly myself wouldn't get too involved quoting laws. When peoples attitudes and thoughts change, things in life can happen over night. I am now in retirement and have seen it many times over my years. Even from goverments, once they want to really do something,...

How did you get to love vintage amusement machines?

I loved the old penny arcade machines right from about 5 years old. I remember my fascination when at that age we each year went camping at a little seaside holiday site on the East Yorkshire coast. One time my parents couldn't even find were I was when it was time to go home... They should have loo...

Re: Machines on 2p and 10p coin, and 20p coin?

Thank you pennymachines for your reply which was very well and clearly put. It's a shame nothing tangible as yet came of that meeting but probably helped put some foundations for the future. I personally are now sceptical about meetings of high officials, after being at a couple myself. They often c...
