Re: Elephant House Auctions

No, me likewise awaiting response but I'm not worried as Steve's emails always a bit random and has always replied eventually. Usually a bit longer after an auction and in his defence he has gone out of his way to get "won" absentee bid items to me in the past either by courier or personal...

Re: VINTAGE slot machine website changes hands

Don't want to be picky on what is a brilliant website but can I just point out a correction to the Info on the BDR/BMR Collection ref Harry Dolman - not slot related but just to get the records right he was Chairman and President of Bristol City FC, rather than Bristol Rovers and even had a stand at...

Re: Elephant House Auctions

Anyone got any news on how Steve is getting on? His site has been understandably quiet since mid April and I think they were originally looking at possibly end of April for next auction but obviously that wasn't going to happen after Steve's unfortunate accident so was just hoping he is well on road...

Re: Backflash to the Future?

Thanks for the advice Gameswat and I agree the original Wrigleys flash would be better than the Cadburys one so I'll take your advice and persist with the original flash (but load it with choc bars so I have something to eat while I make a new payout tube or adapt the existing one depending on size ...

Re: Backflash to the Future?

I agree it's best to keep the existing backflash if in excellent condition but there are times when you think it's too damaged to leave alone - however I will hesitate in the future before trying to remove one I thought I could "tidy up" a bit. This is before and after :smash: before-and-a...

Re: Win-a-Chew

Good advice as ever, Gameswat. I'm learning, as a newbie, that lots of photos before and during renovation are worth 1000 words, especially when it gets to "now where did that bit come from? :!?!: " Thanks again for your help.

Re: Win-a-Chew

Thanks guys - will be sure to upload to resources before and after - tricky bit will be careful removal of the existing flash as slightest pressure on the bits that are warped causes the paint to flake off the back of the plastic. (Made that mistake with an Easy Perm last year and ended up with half...

Re: Win-a-Chew

Thanks Gameswat - actual backflash is a lot worse than the photo suggests, but mainly warping and cracks so I will take your advice and give it a go. My son's pretty good with photoshop so between us I'm happy we can do it. Guess I was taking the coward's way out !

Win-a-Chew

Good afternoon Was wondering if anyone has a full pic of the backflash for the Win-a-Chew machine that I can "borrow" and get printed/laminated. The one on my machine is probably too warped and damaged to repair so will need to remove and replace it but couldn't find any decent pics to use...

Re: Easy Perm payout

Thanks 13rebel - will give the machine a thorough clean up as Gameswat says, and that should solve the "sticking ball" problem.

Re: Easy Perm payout

So easy when you know how! Thanks Gameswat and JC. Working fine now. And all for the sake of a spring and this so helpful forum. !!CHEERS!! Ref the ball resting on the top lever, I believe the correct size ball for the Easy Perm should be 9/16 but that was tending to stick in the works so I used a h...

Re: Easy Perm payout

Many thanks Gameswat and Jerry - that's very helpful and confirms what I thought should logically happen but I couldn't see why it didn't. The 2 springs mentioned are ones I, in my ignorance, repaced, as originals were rusted through, so now I know about the strength of the springs it all makes sens...

Easy Perm payout

Hi Folks - can anyone help me with a problem, the answer to which is probably blindingly obvious but I can't see it! !PUZZLED! I'm in the process of renovating an Easy Perm - work in progress on front, (and thanks to slotalot for use of his pic), but as far as the works are concerned I can't seem to...

Re: Parts for oliver whales "win a Polo" needed

Just by coincidence I spotted that the Elephant House have the same version in their Feb auction URL+REMOVED+BY+SITE+ADMIN#.php?lot=18185 Might be worth seeing if you can blag a pic of the inside from Steve or, at worst and if you're able, going to the auction preview and takes some pics of it to gi...

Re: Elephant House Auctions

Couldn't get to either auction so had to resort to an absentee bid at EH. Did in fact win that one at quite a bit lower than my top bid so at least shows they don't up it artificially to the top bid, but of course I'm buying blind and relying on pics so will be interesting to see what I got for the ...

Re: Easy Perm

That's great - thanks for that. I hadn't managed to get the font right and the best I have got to so far was:

easyperm1.png

your pic is better so if OK with you I will use it as a base instead. Thanks again for your continued help.
