Re: Springs and Sprungs.

I was lucky enough to buy on Ebay some 40 year old spring kits from RS... They are really good and still turn up on Ebay occasionally... Do and save a search for RS spring kits and you will be surprised. :)

Haha, My dad worked as a driver and drayman for Watney's... He originally worked for Steward and Patterson's in Norwich before they were taken over by Watney's. During the summer holidays as a 7 year old... I used to sit in the middle of the lorry cab while my Dad did 20 pub deliveries around Norfol...

Re: Academics on the rise and future of vintage arcades in contemporary seaside resorts

You're absolutely right... my family and I recently flew to the USA in the state of PA and, as always, according to the old tradition, we wanted to look into the old casino where dad was in his youth and due to the pandemic and the development of mobile networks, it has already closed we were inter...

Re: Putting Coinslot archive online

Hello, did Coin Slot exist before the early 1950s? Or was it born as part of World's Fair in the early 1950s? I don't want to get confused. Does anyone here have copies of Coin Slot from before 1966? Any at all? If so please do get in touch. Thank you! (66-99 are apparently accounted for currently ...

Re: Still need a 1p S10 Mechanism

As Coppinpr states: The issue seems with the cradle... It looks like someone has been at it before by drilling a hole in it and filing away a notch of metal... The evidence is still stuck to the magnet. :) Does the cradle "tipple" freely ? The brass bush should be dry and not be oiled. It ...

Re: Peter Simper machines

Great read and sounds like a great company to work for... I remember the Peter Simper office at Heigham St, in Norwich when I was around 17 (I'm now nearly 60). It was a tiny shop that was manned by a lovely guy and great engineer called David Bailey. Dave sometimes would help me out when I needed s...

Re: Putting Coinslot archive online

World's Fair being available online is something I would like to see also, just like what has been done with Billboard. The coin slot section I believe first became part of the World's Fair newspaper publication in the early fifties. I understand there is an archive of World's Fair papers at Sheffie...

Hi Runner Nice find. I'm surprised the glasses and artwork are in such good condition for something stored outside. As it says inside, 'convert between 6d and 5p', I'm guessing it was made circa 1972... but this actually has some PCBs and electronics inside... Quite a surprise for a machine of this ...

Re: Juke box ID?

Haha yes, it is actually a Plaza as shown in the 1939 Seeburg collection I posted above but if you Google "Seeburg Casino" in google images mostly the Plaza comes up and some web pages refer it to Seeburg Casino Plaza. Mighty confusing :D Anyways... looks like it's identified. all the best...

Re: Juke box ID?

Just got a message back from Tony. He says... Looks suspicious really. The machine looks like a Seeburg, but I don't think we had CocaCola here. So yes, as you say, it could be on a US base here in the UK... They did do some upgrade kits after the war to modernise pre war machines... so possibly a S...
