Re: Oliver Whales lock

Thanks for the info pennymachines. (and apols - that's the second time I should have checked the forum menu first :woops: Problem seems to be finding locks with smaller barrel diameter - having spent a good hour or 3 googling the catalogs of various lock suppliers no-one seems to do them small enoug...

Oliver Whales lock

I imagine this subject has come up in the past but couldn't find it !PUZZLED! so would appreciate any advice please. Does anyone have any idea where I can get a new lock for a Win-A-Chew Allwin I have started working on? All the locks I have found have wider barrels (if that's the right word?) . The...

Re: Allwin in need of tlc

Thanks guys - here's a couple more pics in case that helps. Inside looks pretty basic but does seem to have been adapted or altered - beyond my knowledge of these things so any comments good or bad :!?!: would be appreciated.
Personally what I liked was the, to me unusual, cabinet top and sides.

Re: Allwin in need of tlc

Hi I'm using this thread as seems most appropriate - was wondering if someone could identify this allwin I just acquired. It came along with an Oliver Whales machine I wanted but I'm just having trouble identifying this one. Apart from calling itself "The Skill Win Deluxe" I can't find any...

Re: Elephant House Auctions

Tried couple of emails to Steve to ask about Gloria but no response so I can only guess things not good. Steve's always been very good to me over the past couple of years - don't have a phone number but If I was a bit closer I'd pop round to the EH to see if Steve there. Don't suppose there are any ...

Re: Jentzsch & Meerz Simplex catcher

Thanks for your help - probably worth a punt then - seller has left his phone number on another item so may just give him a call ref how "temperamental" it is (i.e. anything missing?) and see if price negotiable |/XX\|
Thanks again

Shield Catcher

Topic merged - Site Admin. Hi guys - silly question time again but in your opinions and ignoring the price for the moment, would you think this item looks worth restoring? :!?!: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1920s-allwin-shield-catcher-old-penny-arcade-machine/222930184368?hash=item33e7aca8b0:g:vH8AAO...

Re: Bloody sodding Microsoft!

Had similar problem with wife's laptop, tried all the usual remove battery, ctl/alt/del, safe mode, backdate, and everything short of John Cleese's damn good thrashing, no response, and finally fixed but £150 lighter in my poor bank account, but point is that if I was worth 150 billion dollars I pro...

Re: Elephant House Auctions

Just seen this on the EH site. Interesting development and also seems to get rid of one of eBay's faults where someone with the right software can outbid people with seconds to go.

Re: What is it?

Would have done so, widget, and maybe I should've gone to specsavers but I still can't find it in resources !PUZZLED!

That apart, though, it was good experience and at least it used a pic of the actual backflash from the original machine so sort of not cheating?

Re: What is it?

Ref playfield or backflash, if all else fails would you consider replacing it? So long as you take a decent hi-res photo of it you can then clean it up a bit with photoshop (or, as I don't have that prog I used the "paint" prog on my PC) then get it printed to right size - I tend to get th...

Re: Pilwin Restoration

( treefrog) I have never taken an image to the printers before, how do they match the size, do you just state the dimensions and they do the rest When I did this with a kit kat backflash (touched up all the missing or damaged bits just using the "paint" prog as I don't have photo shop) I j...

Re: Win A Rowntrees Gum Allwin

I went one step further, as my curiosity got the better of me, and I was tempted to have a go so put a bid in at the last minute, but got outbid with the usual 10 secs to go and too late to up it. Not sure if I'm sad not to get it or relieved I didn't. !!GRUMP!! Would be interested to hear if anyone...

Re: Win A Rowntrees Gum Allwin

Hi widget - you may want a laugh at an extract from the transcript of my online chat with eBay then :dammit: 01:27:45 UTC Vineet :didact: Firstly, I would like to inform you that gaming machine listings are permitted only from licensed sellers (who mention their licence number in the listing) or if ...

Re: Win A Rowntrees Gum Allwin

You only need a permit (at a cost of £25 I believe), not a licence, to sell a machine and the permit lasts for one year but only for that particular machine. Quote the number on your ebay listing and it shouldn't be thrown off. OK I understand that, 13rebel, and thanks for clarifying but seems it w...

Re: Win A Rowntrees Gum Allwin

If all the bits are there and it kept to a reasonable price, it would be a fun project with a new backflash of which there may be one in resources. I had a quick look and found a Ruffler Walker one, but I am still unable to work out how to search on the forum for words below 4 characters Thanks aga...

Re: Win A Rowntrees Gum Allwin

Think you're right (sorry Treefrog, brain wasn't in gear) - which begs the question - how come eBay are still allowing slots to be listed like that one? I listed a similar item (Easy Perm Allwin) 4 days ago - working on old pennies, so no prizes as such - and bidding up to around £500 then eBay remo...
