Re: Vintage Slots in Films and Newsreels
Here is a nice compilation of Blackpool in the 1960s. Some arcade machines and lots of nostalgia. https://youtu.be/kK15TOZkk6k The big floor standing dome top machine was called Pontoon and made by Shields here in Bridlington, They also did a football theme same machine. Their success all came to a...

Re: Cromptons Double Falls
My grandkids properly trained up! I thought of this in 1969 on Cromptons Penny Lanes and i was only 9 years old.
Thanks for posting it Stu. I realy must find a way of doing these tech bits myself.

Re: Spicers Auction 26th May
Spicers certainly commanded some high prices selling Teddy's arcade stash (not the best condition) and massive publicity. Every man and his dog must have told me! I rather suspected it was a bit too North. Another big possibility could be Angus Yorkshire salerooms at Kirby Moorside or even Bangers '...

Re: This Clubmaster, early or late?
Post moved & merged - Site Admin. I've had an inquiry about this machine as to its date. As you can see it's not quite the usual model. I was wondering if this was perhaps an early version or indeed a late version. Also, what year did they stop making the Clubmaster? 1958 or later? It looks to ...

John was my inspiration to start collecting again in the late '80s, laying foundations for Old Penny Memories. He was a good friend.

Re: Operator dilemma: old Pennies or Tokens?
When I first operated about 30 years back I gave 20 old pennies for £1. I was lucky to buy 20 sealed bags of 1200 per bag. I went on to buy another 12 bags all for £20 a bag. Bear in mind they had little scrap value and virtually no market value at the time. If the customers chose to take them home ...

Re: Operator dilemma: old Pennies or Tokens?
Old Penny Memories last operated 2016 on 10 old pennies for £1, all mint 1967. I could write a book on my tips 'n tricks to win over customers, but the key point is good value for money and smiling faces. !!RAYOF!! The first machines they should find and play should be for example a pinball or worki...

Re: Tumbling Prices…
Prices certainly not tumbling at the Yorkshire Auction House! I looked at the slots on offer Thursday 29th and I wasn't excited by their condition.
In my opinion the prices achieved where high. I wonder if a Slotty bought them or a Mug Punter.

Re: Brenco Wheel of Fortune challenge 1965 - kid vs machine
My late brother worked the exact method out and few people could get it! My best ever find was a big 8 player machine called Tote; 1 to 6 numbered horses, different colours, rotating on a large disc in the middle at eye level. All you did was hold your coin over the number 1 slot, for example, and a...
