Two men go into an auction, ones got money and ones got knowledge.
When the auctions over, the man with knowledge has money and the man with money?
Has knowledge.

Well heres an update, the vinyl stickers arrived today and are now on the machine, a certain Paul should be congratulated here
It's now looking good, however I can't do anymore on it for a while as I pick up another for the spares I'm missing next week.

How does that stop them making and then selling them on themselves. I guess I need a non disclosure agreement or similar!!!coppinpr wrote:no,in that your mistaken, the Chinese are good at taking the whole project, farming out the parts and supplying you with the finished item, not so good at other things

Re: Coventry Auction - Sunday 27th November 2016
At this point I'll add my sixpence worth, having been to many auctions in the past but never to these two both on the same day. I have a dilemma with only limit funds to spend, always looking for a bargain, wanting to go to Coventry's Auction because I only discovered it on this forum and because mo...

Oh heck, all that makes things very complicated. i.e.. different parts produced at different locations lots of different negotiations with many people more chance things won't fit together correctly the quality may vary getting all items produced at the same time many different parts to import assem...

Re: Bandit Stand
40 odd years ago the Design Manager where I worked walked past a drawing in progress that showed for scale, a man stood by a large industrial boiler. His only comment to the Design Engineer was "I hope that man is to British Standard, 5 foot 9 and right handed". I have never bothered to f...

Re: Info wanted on using an old Patent to get something made from said Patent but where?
I have no experience of this whatsoever. But generally it would seem that China is able to copy almost anything, and cheaply. I think the repro Allwins were made in China. You're right, just about everything is made there now, it's just a case of finding the right manufacturer at the right quality ...

Re: The State of the Pennymachines Nation
As a recent newbie I find a few things that the forum are up against to keep it interesting and active. Probably a swearword on here is Facebook, no forum can compete with it, it's fast, virtually instant, has likes or not, easy to use, shares easy, videos and photos are easy placed, watched etc.......

Re: Info wanted on using an old Patent to get something made from said Patent but where?
When a patent reaches its twentieth anniversary it expires and the holder can no longer claim exclusivity on its usage. Pursuing a patent would be a waste of time and money. I doubt that a new material would meet the inventive step criterion required for a patent, particularly as Mick wants it &quo...

Having looked further at the patent it was originally placed in the '20s. It has been remade since by different companies in the '50s, '60s, '70s and finally in 1989 with some alterations, however I find reading the patents, details and whether it's available quite difficult to understand.

Re: Decals or print supplier needed for Bell Fruit glass
Thanks for the advice but I'm confused at the moment as to whether I'm asking for a decal (which I think is a water slide transfer) or a vinyl sticker?
