That's a great find Dave, and a version I've never seen before.
It's an ABT shooter, the more common examples include US Marshall and Challenger. They were made in the 1960s or possibly late 50s, and are quite common over here, but I've never seen one like that.

Please take a look at Ebay No. 140225761258 which is this same game. According to the auction information, this was made in the 1980s by J.F.Frantz Division of Johnston Products. I see these later Frantz shooting games come up on Ebay every once in a while. There is a space/rocket theme game, Coke, Pepsi and several others. They were made in limited numbers and obviously intended for a niche market. They are later production than the counter Frantz shooting games as well as the better known console models like "Junior Deputy Shooting Range" and "Deputy Marshall," etc.

Hi John,

The paintwork on mine is not the best, which made me think it was earlier, I purchased this from my aunt as my uncle died some 11 years ago, it was well looked after... is there any way I could tell if its not an 80s model?

I have just looked at the ebay link... I guess you're right!

That's a shame I though it was earlier than that.

Hi again. Take a look at Ebay 170221604284. It is a space theme Frantz game with some further information from the company. This was the same era as your Coke game.

Hi Dave, :D If you need any parts for your Frantz Coke Shooter try the Crow River Trading Co.
This link should get you to it: http://www.crowriver.com/coinop/
They have lots of spares for this type of machine. :tarah: slotalot.

Hi, Dave, I have just found some flyers on the net that may interest you.

Hello everyone!
In the words of Jim Reeves 'Welcome to my world'
I am interested in the above Trade Stimulators made by J.F Frantz, does anyone have any of the above? If so could they send me a photo or two? Also what is the game like to play/how addictive etc., etc., etc.
All the best,
Mark.

Think it's a fairly modern game, sure a guy in the States was making them in the 80s.
Wouldn't know what it would be worth, but it's a nice looking game.

Yep, the J.F.Frantz Coke Gallery shooting game was produced in the 80s. Crowriver.com has some info and also supplies parts.

There was a thread regards this machine when I first purchased it (now merged above - Site Admin). As markets move up and down, I was wondering what it's now worth?
Probably less than I paid for it...

You can never tell what a machine is going to make :!?!: It depends on where you sell it, who sees it; can it be delivered, etc., etc......
Why not put it in the Coventry Slot Machine Auction on November 27th? I see you are only about 90 miles down the M40 from Coventry, at least everyone that attends this sale are looking for vintage slots, and you never know, you might find yourself another machine that you just can't live without

Not that it's particularly relevant, but I sold a Frantz BIG TOP MECHANICAL WESTERN THEME SHOOTING GAME VENDING PRIZES. GOOD WORKING ORDER, 10 SHOTS FOR 10P at Southern Counties Auction in 2006 and it made £200.

I don't plan to sell, I was just wondering how much it was worth, or someone was prepared to pay, as the machine as I found out isn't that old.

Cheers again gents

I've always been amazed that these modern Coke machines confuse people. The logos, bottles/cans and type faces used are all so modern. A collector I knew in Aust paid a lot of money in the mid '90s because he was told it was a special gift from Coca-Cola to the Aust factory head in the 1950s and that only a few were ever made!! By the time he sent me the pics it was too late and he owned it.

US Marshall's Shooting Gallery

Post by ddstoys »

Topic merged - Site Admin.

Hi everyone, thought someone might like to see my US Marshall's 1950s shooting gallery.

I wanted to restore it but was in really good original condition but the gun was bent so I've just replaced it with a NOS barrel and gun sides from Crow River Trading.

I loved it before but love it even more now.
